Even if the scoreboard didn't show who we were playing you could tell it was QPR due to the lack of away fans.

Image may contain: one or more people, people on stage, people standing, basketball court and outdoor

Looks like there were more match officials than QPR away 'supporters'.

And me and I'm sure many other of this 'Chelsea Vintage'

Me included, I was also lucky enough to have the red, white and green away kit. Not a box set, plain red shirt and white shorts, but I had the proper socks, and they were what set the kit apart weren't they?

That's a young Dennis Irwin up against Mickey Thomas.

So it is !

Cheers for that info,

Had forgotten Irwin had played for them before moving to Man Utd.

Indeed so.

I remember getting a couple of pairs of similar type of Gordon Banks gloves and insisting they'd got the name wrong !

Once down the park they were the difference in my goalkeeping 'performances' well in my mind anyway !

Football down the park was brilliant mate wasn't it, a great way to fill that gap between the end of school and bed time, via a quick snack break.

Guess that means it is Greaves's 80th too.

Anyone watch the BT documentary Greavsie this week? Really good. Obviously too much Spuds focus but plenty on his time with us, mainly featuring Schnozz Sillet, but also Barry Bridges and Chopper. Highly recommended.
