Saw this On Twitter a week or so ago.  Apologies if its been posted.  What a day that was!!!

I'm going to open a thread for this no coverage has been seen at all and us who were there have waited 36 years to see.  Posters might miss this a genuine piece of Chelsea history because of countless random pictures of Erland Johnson and Darren Wood etc.

Good call mate.  I hope the guy is serious about posting highlights of this game in May.  I’ll probably shed a few tears.  I was behind the goal, and crushed like everyone else.  Getting close to 60 now, so I can’t remember exactly where I was.  To the right of the goal maybe, or was it the left?
Maybe the Grimsby fella has got clips of Pat’s dribble v Newcastle,  and  Flasher’s goal at Bolton the season before.

Capacity crowd at Stamford Bridge, London, 1963.

'The crowd at Stamford Bridge for the Chelsea versus Stoke City match was the highest for years - fans climbed on the hoardings for a better view.'

I think it must be game on May 11th 1963.

Crowd was officially given as  66,199.

We lost 1-0, but both Stoke and ourselves were promoted to Division 1.

Something bleak about that picture, looks cold and depressing, but hey better than the Lego stadiums of today, even the modern bridge of today is starting to look a little old skool again, as other clubs stadiums over take us in the modern stakes, but none of us would swap the bridge for the Emirates, London Stadium, or Tottenham stadium.

To me this is a very historic photo. We're playing in our first ever season.

A crowd of 10,123, saw us win 1-0.
