In his other items for sale there's a 1950s, match worn, Carshalton FC shirt, not the mighty Robins but their even smaller, but very well respected, neighbour over Beddington/Wallington way.

I know people with the scars to prove you did.

I know hundreds with the mental scars that came as part of the package for those years.

Don't care what anyone says, that's a proper kit!

The Full Members Cup Final was a great day out. One of my favourite trips to Wembley.

I'd still have to plump for the 1st Le Coq effort as my favourite of the three home shirts they did, funny enough the one with no red in it is probably the least remembered of the 3.

Luton in 94 would be up there for me as well.

Yes, a good day out. The thing I remember most about that game was the reception Kerry Dixon who was playing for Luton received from us Chelsea fans.

Happy Birthday to Colin Pates, who is 59 today.

And still getting kids ready for life at Chelsea and Palace in his coaching role at Whitgift School in South Croydon, and a local boy to boot, top man Patesy.

The Centre back partnership between Pates and Joe McLaughlin was brilliant. Perhaps we should call them out of retirement!

Absolutely correct mate. It always amazes me that that team never gets any credit or coverage in this section.

Should start an 83/4 thread just to redress the balance.

I know that this has been posted many times before but worth posting again.

I wish I could see a heat map or something that picked out where I stood or sat for the games I went to at the shrine.

Indeed. Shocking lack of coverage.

Now there’s an idea...😀

And  I can’t imagine them being over powered by forwards very often.

Yes a team time forgot, manager was Neal something if l remember correctly? Had a big blonde centre forward, can't remember his name? Was over shadowed a bit by hot shot Dave Mitchell, another couple of names that have slipped my mind are two tiny Scottish lads, one played out wide, looked about 14, the other was a firey little thing, jumped up like Zeppady to head the ball, now what the f**k were their names? Didn't we have sh*t away support that season as well, were lucky to fill a mini bus to some games!!
