Falcao to Chelsea?

Radamel Falcao's agent admits the Porto striker would be happy to join Andre Villas-Boas if he takes over at Chelsea.

Chelsea are thought to be closing in on a deal for Villas-Boas as a replacement for Carlo Ancelotti at Stamford Bridge.

The Portuguese tactician is thought to be weighing up the offer from Chelsea after Roman Abramovich made the 33-year-old his top target to become the club's new manager.

Reports have suggested Villas-Boas would make Falcao one of his top transfer targets if he does accept the Chelsea job and the Colombian's agent, Claudio Mossi, admits the player would be interested in a switch to West London.

"If Villas Boas is the new coach of Chelsea it is normal for players that are closest to follow him," Mossi is quoted as saying in The Sun.

The likes of Tottenham and Arsenal have been linked with Falcao in the past with the striker regarded as one of the best players in Europe after netting a record 17 goals in last season's Europa League campaign.

.

We ha net even got him yet!! Well... If you believe what you read (and it's everywhere except the official site...!) anyway. We don't need him though, focus on a speedy winger and a creative midfielder.

Call me pessimistic but I'm not sure that we don't need him. If after the first dozen games of the season Torres has just one goal courtesy of a small lake formed in the middle of the penalty area, we may be thinking that a buying a fully fit striker who isn't in the middle of the most barren patch of his entire career would have been a good idea.

But hopefully I will be toasting Torres narrowly beating Sturridge to the Golden Boot at the end of the season.

We've got his position covered. Expect this to happen with every new manager we are inevitably linked with players from his former club. This is no different to the Turan links when Hiddink was apparently on the verge of becoming manager.

Hulk on the other hand I could get behind, a right winger is in order.

I wouldn't mind having a Hulk in the team...would settle for an understated Bruce Banner though.

With Drogba staying, Torres, Lukaku probably coming and Sturridge returning, there is no way he would be coming. Unless Villas Boas absolutely insists on him.

or maybe Lukaku and/or Sturrigewill not be returning.

Is he really a winger though? or more like a David Villa playing out wide? Haven't seen him play much.

yeah, i think his natural position is a winger

Isn't Falcao a pretty much low budget version of Torres?

Plus, with the release clause of 26m I'm sure we can spend that money on areas that really need improvement.

huh? You sure you have the right guy?

Yeah, the lump who played against us everytime we have played Porto in the Champs League recently. They always talk him up & he never really delivers.

I didn't realise he was a winger, I thought he was suppose to play the Drogba role.

He was a center-forward til Villas Boas took over, I think. Then he moved to the right wing and was one of the main reasons they scored a ridiculous number of goals this season.

Great, then Sturridge will have the same destiny as well :)

I'd let the Boas decide because I have no opinion of my own on this one.

PS: I'm calling him The Boas from now on. Sounds cool and mafia like.

Dont see the point of signing another centre forward. I'll be disappointed if we stray from our primary objectives of a creative midfielder, right wing and right back, glaring weaknesses in our squad for a few years now.

On sky saying he's confident of joining us.....

He's one of Boas' disciples so probably really wants to follow him. Maybe he can be converted into a wider player if he came, he is a very unselfish striker.
