Kevin De Bruyne

Featured Replies

I think all that talk of van der Wiel coming in is over. I personally think that Unibrow and Ivanovic will play at right back this season.

The De Bruyne deal is still very much on by the way. Expect big news re him within what I can only presume will be hours! #CFC #Chelsea

If this is true, and he's healthy, I wonder if we'll let him play against us in the CL. I'd love to see him play, but I don't want him scoring any goals against us! :laugh2:

everybody can write anything on wiki.

Just like most of the journos come up with any sort of c**p in the transfer window..it gets us excited, doesnt it? (more often than not, at least) This got me too

Not exactly confirmation, more a second hand report of what various sources are saying:

Chelsea Fee Agreed For Kevin De Bruyne, Says Dutch & Belgian Media

According to television networks like HLN and many other Dutch and Belgian sources, Chelsea have reportedly agreed to a fee for 20 year old Belgian Kevin De Bruyne. De Bruyne (profiled here) has made it known in recent weeks that his preferred destination was Chelsea and that his agent was already in talks with the club. The fee being reported out of Belgium is a miniscule €10 million, and the deal would include a loan back to Genk for the remainder of this season. That loan deal would reportedly not allow De Bruyne to play against Chelsea in the upcoming group stages of the Champions League, further helping Chelsea by taking away one of their best weapons.

While that is all still somewhat speculative, there is additional good news on the De Bruyne front. The youngster was injured several weeks ago in what originally appeared to be a fairly significant injury. Luckily for him, it appears those original estimates of 4-6 months were a little off. De Bruyne is by all reports likely to be ready for a return to full training when the upcoming international break is over, and he may even be available for selection when Genk faces off against Valencia in the first round of Champions League matches just over two weeks from now. All in all, this is two pieces of really outstanding news to hear on a Monday morning.

If we sign him I wonder if he will try even harder in the CL games against Valencia and Leverkusen.

And also not playing against us? Can we buy Leverkusen's best player as well just make sure we will win the group easily? :)

Fantastic. This kind of deal, signing a young player and then loaning him back, is something im surprised more clubs dont do. There can be no better enviroment for a young player to grow and fulfill his potential than the one theyre in, and im sure the selling club are a little more lenient when they know they wont lose the player right away.

Plus....another Belgian.

At least we'd know Liverpool wouldn't get away with murder when they play us.

Bravo, I`ll set em up and you knock em down.....

Today in the Belgian press: http://www.hln.be/hln/nl/1285/Jupiler-Pro-League/article/detail/1311984/2011/08/31/Chelsea-pusht-voor-De-Bruyne-Genk-bezwijkt-nog-niet.dhtml

KRC Genk refuses the bid of 7mil €, (can go up to 10 mil with bonuses) also KRC would be able to hire Kevin for the first season on favorable terms. The entourage of Kevin is a little bit nervous. They would already have an agreement with CFC for 5 years. If the deal won't be done before tonight KRC will have a very disappointed player.

Oh an a quote from Debruyne in sporza (they will never post something untill it's real). "CFC did a really good bid and they would let me play in Genk for a year for FREE"

If that happens Kevin will lose a lot of money but he wants to do that.

I doubt he means that he wouldn't get paid, but rather that Genk wouldn't have to pay his salaries.

That's what I took out of it too Maks

But a tweet which popped up for me says:

"De Bruyne move to Chelsea not happening this summer. General manager Degraen declined bid. De Bruyne not too happy with Genk at the moment."

FreekFraiponts @FootballBelgium

It is him himself who said that he will lose a lot of money if he plays for free. He will get paid for sure but he will get payed less then he earns now. The bid isn't accepted but it's a litle bit the same story as with lukaku. Kevin only wants to play for a big club and he loves chelsea (not as much as lukaku ut still). We'll see how it goes and it's a player for in a few years so if it doesn't happen this year it can be next year

I didn't see anything but did we land him? No Modric or Periera but I think we will be fine! Bosingwa is looking good just need him to stay healthy, Sturridge on the right, Mata on the left Lamps who looked rejuventaed with Mata last week and Josh his understudy with Angela and Drogba to alternate doesn't look too bad! I for one look forward to this season and we are going to instill some of the younger players! I am not complaining, we didn't spend nearly the figure we were rumored too and with a lot if players in their final year, we're setting the table for next year! I don't know, perhaps I am jar some Yank with too much optimism, what does everyone else think?
