Kevin De Bruyne

Featured Replies

Yeah if he is given a chance here. I wouldnt be shocked if he never really gets a chance with us and is sold in a season or two.

i think de bruyne is incredibly talented, and if he were brazilian hed get as much exposure as oscar, but i still fear the club will overlook him and hell end up having a brilliant career somewhere else.

next season i hope to see him as our starting cm

If De Bruyne keeps this up, and can prove himself in the Premier League...

Between Oscar, Hazard and De Bruyne, Mata's place is starting to look a little threatened.

i think all of them can play in the same 11

Nah, if we manage to get Oscar, KDB, Mata and Hazard in the same team, we would need the world's best DM (to act purely as a shield), because the others are too attacking. Ramires couldn't do it.

Nice goal. Shame about the lapse in concentration that meant he played onside Cacau for Stuttgart's equaliser.

lol that was aaron hunt, not de bruyne

I could see that team getting bulldozed at it has very little steel and is also so small (The only real ariel threat is Cahill....) - Now put in Ballack and Maka in their prime in place of Ramires and Oscar, and you would be talking!

Really? I feel like it is De Bruyne standing behind the goal keeper with 3 Stuttgart players being onside because of it.

Well you could hardly call Barcelona full of steel and they seem to cope.

Yeah I hear that Chelsea FC really underrates Belgians

You're right Andy Gray, remember all those times Barcelona have been bulldozed by bigger teams?

Well, we don't have the passing quality of Busquets, Iniesta and Xavi in our squad and therefore it'll be harder to cope.

Then what of Romeu? I'd prefer a proper holder in there.

1) I was commenting specifically on the team that was mentioned by Zeta, with a midfield 2 of Ramires and Oscar. My view remains that this midfield pairing is not sufficient in height or "steel"...especially when considering you are not likely to get much tracking back from Hazard, Mata or KDB.

2) Chelsea are not Barcelona, and we do not play the same way as Barcelona. We also play in a different league. Why either of you are comparing to Barcelona is not clear....neither offered an explanation or justification.

3) Barca have midfield players like Busquets and Mascerano who both fill the steely midfielder role nicely. Neither is attack minded like Ramires or Oscar. I hear Andy Gray rates them both highly.

4) I would like to see a Barca midfield without either of those two holding players (Biscuits and Mascarano) playing a big team who floods midfield like stoke, bolton, west ham etc....then your comparrisons may have some validity.

If you honestly think you could take those players out of Barcelona and suddenly they'd struggle against the likes of Stoke you're very wrong. When the hell could Stoke even get the ball to do anything?

And you are perfectly justified to your opinion. I seem to remember us stuggling against stoke last weekend and them creating a few chances against us...and that was with a defensive midfielder.

Macharano, has long been a converted center back so they have already taken him out and Biscuits, joins the attack quite often.

Barcas streaghth is to fold, one teasm can't get the ball of them meaning that when they do manager it they are so tired they end up giving it straight back. two is that every memeber of that barca team presses the ball agressivly. the are a much fitter team then people give credit and can press a ball for 90 miniutes if needed, also helps that they barly run when in possesion

Origami eh? Who knew! tbh they are not bad at footy either!

Anyway, this is a KDB thread and i have no intention of getting into a mass debate over how good Barca are. i have no idea why they were even mentioned on here. We are not Barca, we dont have the same players as them, we play a different style and in a different league. All comparrisons in my view are pointless. BTW, we beat Barca last year en route to becoming European champions. And how did we do it? We did it our way with grit , determination and a bloody minded never say die attitidue.

My initial view remains, that if we played that midfield (Rambo and Oscar behind Mata, Hazard and KDW) we would be outmuscled by larger teams

now youre gonna tell me hunt and de bruyne switched shirts for that corner alone (de bruyne wears nr 6)

You're right.

The highlights I watched were very low quality and didn't have that angle from behind the goal. When Bargfrede charges forward (he's 44), he turns at the end and his number looked like 14.
