Is JT banned for another 2 games?

Featured Replies

Is That a statement or a question??

Yes he is banned, and absolutely no one can feel its harsh either or he is being hard done by.

We have the right to appeal but we won't because on what grounds?? Uefa are already pissed we won the Champions League, so they aren't out to do us any favours right now

:laugh2: Why are the media even making this a story? Like they're announcing a great truth it to the ill-informed? It never even occurred to me that he wouldn't miss the next European games for us - straight red = 3 game ban. Duuuuuh.

Seriously, the media are more obsessed with JT than Scousers are with 'istory.

I agree any appeal is doomed to fail, but on what grounds did the FA appeal (successfully) against Rooney's 3-match ban for a far more violent kick? They got it cut to 2 games. I thought it was absurd that a football body that issues automatic 3-match bans for red cards for violent conduct should have the nerve to claim a 3-match ban was excessive.

Ooh nooo Teeblue my post came out wrong...! I just meant that the way the media have made a flippin' story about this is laughable. I certainly didn't mean to insult you - apologises!

Hells bells, he could (and probably will) end up missing the first 14 games of the season. I say this as I can see no other outcome than the FA managing to somehow hit him with a hefty ban on the back of the Ferdinand to-do.

And if that were to come to pass it would give Cahill and Luiz one hell of a chance to cement the centre back partnership that won us the European Cup.

Its a shame he will miss it, But there is no point in us trying to appeal it.. He has missed the Final, Now he misses Super Cup and Round 1 of Champion League. The other possible ban is not worth talking about at the moment

Very strange this news coming out so long after the incident... Maybe it was a fair trade. JT lifts the cup and gets two games.

Very much doubt it, for the manner he got sent off in, I would expect a 3 match ban at least.

A three match ban is to be expected for violent conduct, the club will know this and accept the punishment. JT himself could well be in the middle of a lengthy domestic ban IF his court case goes pear shaped and would lack the match fitness to play in the European games anyway.
