Chelsea goals/stats 2012/13 season

Featured Replies

Being a bit of an anorak myself I love a stat and when I read that Lamps is 4 goals away from Kerry's number for Chelsea it triggered me to think that we should have a stats page on the general forum. My main thought is that we can keep tabs of goals, assists, appearances and any little bits and bobs of trivia. Also, it will be useful to analyze some of the stats which might come in handy in match threads and when discussing things. It will be a collaborative effort so please put your own stats down.

For my part I'm gonna keep tabs/describe goals scored, when, where, why, how etc:

Goal 1 - Ivanovic finishes after through ball from Hazard (G - Ivanovic, a - Hazard)

Goal 2 - Hazard fouled in box. Lampard penalty. (G - Lampard, a - Hazard)

Goal 3 - Hazard fouled in box. Lampard penalty. (G - Lampard, a - Hazard)

Goal 4 - Cahill long range shot. (G - Cahill, a - Hazard)

Goal 5 - Torres taps in from a square ball/cross from the left wing from Cole. (G - Torres, a - Cole)

Goal 6 - Hazard runs the length of the pitch and lays it on to Ivanovic for a tap in. (G - Ivanovic, a - Hazard)

Goal 7 - Torres fouled in box. Hazard scored penalty. (G- Hazard, a - Torres )

Goal 8 - Torres long range shot after backheel from Hazard. (G - Torres, a - Hazard)

PLEASE CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG!

Goals:

Torres - 2

Lampard - 2

Ivanovic - 2

Hazard - 1

Cahill - 1

Assists:

Hazard - 6

Torres - 1

Cole - 1

Just an idea, but maybe add the date or the team in which the players scored against in the first bit where you are lining up all the goals scored. Make is easier to check. Otherwise great job! (Y)

Yeah, please add versus who it happened.

Another thing I'll track is minutes played (and in brackets % of minutes played). I prefer this to appearances stats since it gives a more exact indication of how long players were on the pitch.

Chelsea = 270 minutes

Cech - 270 (100%)

Ivanovic - 270 (100%)

Cole - 270 (100%)

Torres - 270 (100%)

Mikel - 248 (91%)

Hazard - 244 (90%)

Mata - 233 (86%)

Lampard - 183 (67%)

Terry - 180 (66%)

Cahill - 180 (66%)

Luiz - 180 (66%)

Betrand - 180 (66%)

Mierles - 101 (37%)

Ramires - 80 (29%)

Oscar - 59 (21%)

Sturridge - 22 (8%)

Can you add attachments in here (upload)? If so, I have an Excel file which might help you.

Click on the "More Reply Options" and you should be able to add attachments. I've only used it for pictures, but I suppose Excel files works as well.

Just to clarify one point given Miereles' departure. When I denote % of minutes played I am referring to % of minutes played in EVERY game ALL season regardless of whether the player was injured for some games or was sold. This doesn't neccessarily denote who RDM first choice's are (there might be a player who is first choice but injured so frequently that he only plays in 50% of the teams games, for example). Its more a reflection overall of who is getting the game time/who we are most dependent on.

What we know thus far this season is that RDM has 6 players who are pretty much his automatic selections:

1. Cech

2. Ivanovic

3. Cole

4. Mikel

5. Hazard

6. Torres

The only other point I will make is that I'm pretty sure that there is a consensus on here that Frank has not done nearly enough to justify being our 7th most used player (80% of match time). Right now I really think he is the weakest link.

I think its safe to say that you can classify Mata in the above group, just got rested VS QPR. Good stats though, makes for some intresting reading. Ramires certainly needs to be getting more gametime!!

Atletico Madrid (Monaco) August 31st

Goal 9 - Cahill smashes the ball into the net after a scramble following a corner. (G - Cahill, - ?)

Goals:

Torres - 2

Lampard - 2

Ivanovic - 2

Cahill - 2

Hazard - 1

I'm not sure who the assist would be attributed to, I suppose it could be credited to the corner taker - anyone recall who that was?

Your'e right RDM has started him in 4 of our 5 games, whats cut into Mata's playing time is that he is our most heavily substituted player, here is the list:

Mata - 4

Ramires - 2

Hazard

Mikel

Cole

Betrand

Torres

Miereles

Also, RDM has used 12 of his 15 possible substitutions having only used all 3 subs in 2 of our 5 games (Reading & Atl Madrid).

You guys should keep this up Id always be checking this thread for stats. I'd like to see pass completion and interceptions, tackles.Ive got a question for you guys though. Who's ran the most yards for Chelsea this season so far. Is it possible to get those kind of stats ?

Just found this beauty . Bear in mind its from his last 2 games but still : - Ryan Betrand is doing all he can to grasp his first team opportunities with both hands. He’s been Chelsea’s hardest worker in their last two Premier League matches running for 5.67 and 6.43 miles respectively.
