January 30, 201313 yr Author If they go touchscreen I won't buy it, I don't like touchscreen. I finally gave in and bought one of these smartphones a few months ago and it's annoying and difficult to use. Also I bought Fifa 13 and a new PS3 since mine was broken..what a waste that was. Fifa 13 is sh*t and broken. I did one season of a career okay, now the 2nd season is broken, every time you do the training things between matches it doesn't use my pro anymore, but uses some random guy and then in the matches the ball is invisible. Probably going to sell it back to GAME.
January 30, 201313 yr Anybody any concrete info on graphics, processor - any geeky stats? I sold my xbox a couple of years ago, but would consider getting one again. They have become more of an all in one entertainment package now, which is pretty sweet

January 30, 201313 yr Expecting the new xbox dashboard to be just like windows 8 in a way, really like that design on my phone and the current x360 dash is pretty similar. That'd be a mistake IMO. Windows 8 is great for your phone because the OS was fundamentally designed for touchscreens. It's perfect for that, but really fails design-wise if you aren't using one.
January 31, 201313 yr September 17th, 2013 is the release date for GTA V - what are they thinking there with the new consoles coming? Unless they know something we dont.
January 31, 201313 yr September 17th, 2013 is the release date for GTA V - what are they thinking there with the new consoles coming? Unless they know something we dont. I'm fuming. WTF are they playing at? I knew a spring release date was too good to be true.
January 31, 201313 yr Author Maybe they'll release the PS4 at the same time and release the game on both platforms, that way they'll make even more money because technically they've done nothing wrong if they advertise it as PS3 and people pre-order as PS3 and then they simply make it available on PS4 as well.

But they could have just designed it as a next gen game and released it early 2014 instead of making it for PS3 and Xbox 360, when we're so close to getting new consoles anyway. Grrr
January 31, 201313 yr Author I'm not sure i'm going to like GTA V anyway. I liked the others because you get invested in the main character over time, but with this whole 3 main characters thing I can't see it necessarily being as interesting.
February 1, 201313 yr I loved Vice City GTA the best, perfect story, length, maps weren't too big. GTA 4 was so long and tedious. Such a chore to complete.
February 1, 201313 yr I'm not sure i'm going to like GTA V anyway. I liked the others because you get invested in the main character over time, but with this whole 3 main characters thing I can't see it necessarily being as interesting. On the contrary, i think it will be extremely interesting. We're still going to get an insight into their separate lives. And the ability to switch between them at any given point is a great concept. Naturally, as a player we're going to have a favourite out of the three, and perhaps sympathise with one of their plights more than the others. I can't wait.
February 1, 201313 yr Author Apprently the ocean floor is being modelled in this one as well and you can explore that. Be interesting to see how they do it I suppose. Will you have to buy some kind of scuba gear first?
February 1, 201313 yr Apprently the ocean floor is being modelled in this one as well and you can explore that. Be interesting to see how they do it I suppose. Will you have to buy some kind of scuba gear first? I'm guessing so. The whole game is meant to be bigger than San Andreas, Red Dead Redemption and GTA IV combined. That is mind-blowing! Though i expect that being able to explore the ocean takes up a lot of the scale of the game.
February 7, 201313 yr Author Reports that the new xbox wont play second hand games, if so Microsoft have dealt themselves a death blow in that market because not many people will buy it
February 7, 201313 yr Reports that the new xbox wont play second hand games, if so Microsoft have dealt themselves a death blow in that market because not many people will buy it If this is the case i will definitely defect to PS4. People won't stand for it.
February 7, 201313 yr Author PS4 might do it as well http://uk.games.yahoo.com/blogs/plugged-in/sony-files-patent-application-block-used-games-201106637.html?fb_action_ids=10152550314395581%2C10152519155390043%2C10152519157440043&fb_action_types=news.reads&fb_source=other_multiline&action_object_map=%7B%2210152550314395581%22%3A140763269420160%2C%2210152519155390043%22%3A140763269420160%2C%2210152519157440043%22%3A544196502259365%7D&action_type_map=%7B%2210152550314395581%22%3A%22news.reads%22%2C%2210152519155390043%22%3A%22news.reads%22%2C%2210152519157440043%22%3A%22news.reads%22%7D&action_ref_map=[]
February 7, 201313 yr Author It's a big deal for millions of other people though and for all those shops that rely on second hand game sales to survive. Its not even just about buying them though, consider this: If you buy a game like that, you can never lend it to a friend or sibling to use on their machine, never take it round to someone's house to play. Never rent a game to play any more. etc...
February 7, 201313 yr Really think in the near future, buying games and such will only be available via a online marketplace/steam etc - especially if they put this lock on, and it seems like they want it to happen themselves with this lock on.
February 7, 201313 yr I'm not convinced that the inability to buy games will make that much of a dent in either company's profits. Hardcore gamers have already been flocking away from consoles in recent years and the rumors of an underpowered next generation aren't going to bring them back. This is probably merely the death blow for those who have stayed. Casuals, on the other hand, probably won't care. Granny isn't going to say no when her 13 year old grandson asks for a 720 for Christmas just because there aren't any used games. I do think it's a disturbing trend for the industry, though. One might argue that there are no such things as used games on the PC, but nearly every PC game is also substantially cheaper than $60. Hell, games like FIFA are often still $60 right up until the release of next year's edition. On PC, you've got blockbuster games that are half off a month after release. The only way that this move will be even remotely palatable is if the market for console games shifts accordingly, but I doubt it.
February 8, 201313 yr Games are a rip off now anyway, £45 - £50 for a game?! Thats nearly a full tank of diesel, a nice pair of jeans or food shopping for the week - I am getting old.
February 8, 201313 yr To be fair though that 40 pound game could give you hours and hours of entertainment. If you buy a brand new blu ray film thats about 20 ish quid and thats a 2 hour film. Most games will take you ten or so hours to complete some less and some more so if you think about it that way then its not that bad. If xbox do go ahead with this and stop second hand game but PS dont then everyone will go over to PS.
February 8, 201313 yr I wouldnt take that too seriously, they sad the same about the Xbox 360 and the PS3. Either both will do it or neither as whichever one does do it will lose out massively.
February 8, 201313 yr Some game companies have already started it somewhat, FIFA for example has a unique code that only works once to unlock the online modes so if you buy it second hand you somehow need to get a new code. But yeah, dont think it will happen anyway.
