June 11, 201313 yr Xbox just killed it at E3, so many good exclusives and twitch tv. 499 USD for it though, could have been cheaper - better start saving up a little every now and then, its out in november. Battlefield 4 and Titanfall crushed CoD, both looks amazing and run 60 fps, the new Halo game was a massive surprise as well, dead rising 3/quantum break looked amazing! PS4 will have to have many better exclusives to make me get one of their consoles. Well Sony just destroyed Microsoft. No used game policy, no online connection required, no stupid Kinect thing and it's much cheaper. Also i actually prefered their games to the ones Microsoft have shown us, i am not a fan of FPS games at all. For me Sony just won, and they didn't really need to do anything to achieve it.

They just listened to the customers something Microsoft did not do. Don't get me wrong I prefer the 360 to the ps3 but it looks like the ps4 just won the console battle for this next gen class.

For me personally its not a problem, I have never bought a second hand or lent a game from anyone and I definitely prefered all the xbox one exclusives compared to ps4. My 360 is also always connected to the internet so it wont be a massive difference. Can't wait to play The Division though, looked great. If Ps4 had the games I liked I would have bought it but it didnt.
June 11, 201313 yr People will disagree but the console market has shrunk in the last few years, i can see the market only supporting one major player not two. At the moment my money is on the ps4 due to the cheaper price, superior hardware and less restrictions.
June 11, 201313 yr Good lord the PS4 is an ugly machine. Like two PS2's glued together. However, its loads cheaper than the XboxOne and has none of that online bullsh*t....I think my allegiance is switching to Sony after all these years. Either way, Watch Dogs will definitely be my first purchase, they released a new trailer yesterday. Edited June 11, 201313 yr by Blueblur
June 11, 201313 yr Regarding the PS4 price, how sure are we that thats not their cheapest bundle so to speak? Might be a lesser HDD, that ps4 eye thing not included, no headsets and so on etc. Still a lot to be confirmed here!
June 11, 201313 yr Sony smacked it. No used games policy, no need for online verification, lower price point, better relationship with Indy and 3rd party developers, no Kinect, better spec. I was getting a PS4 regardless but I'm very, very happy after that E3 presentation.
June 11, 201313 yr I don't care about the used games thing, the always on internet doesn't affect me and I'm not as worried as many about the kinect snooping on me. What concerns me is the kinect adverts thing. Adverts that won't go away until you acknowledge them and respond to them and the price. We're paying a lot more than they do in America for the privilege of not having the TV features, oh joy. I have never been able to enjoy Halo, it just doesn't interest me. I am likely to only get 4 or 5 games a year. The ones I'll get are GTA V, FIFA, Battlefield 4 (on PC obviously), Gran Turismo/Forza and maybe one other game like Watchdogs or Tekken or something. Pretty much gonna go PS4 for the price alone.
June 11, 201313 yr Battlefield 4 is now 60 fps on consoles so im pretty sure im going to stop upgrading my PC from now on! Not that I ever have but its getting a bit rusty. Anyone else just completely ignoring CoD? BF4 blew it away to be fair.
June 11, 201313 yr Seems like the battle is ridiculously one sided between Xbox and Playstation for once. Having had an xbox for god knows how many years, feel weird to accept that when I look to get my next console I will certainly be converting to Playstation Final Score; Xbox - 1 Playstation - 4

But the PS4 is £100 cheaper and hasn't got the limitations Xboxone has, like DRM, internet connection etc.
June 11, 201313 yr Xbox's obsession over TV and FPS made my decision a lot easier. I hate both of those things. Edited June 11, 201313 yr by Remodez
June 11, 201313 yr Xbox's obsession over TV and FPS made my decision a lot easier. I hate both of those things. For people living outside of the US/UK, the TV features are a tad moot.
June 11, 201313 yr I expect a long to change regarding the price, I also excpet there to be numerous bundles for each console. Hopefully at least 1/2 games included in that 499 price from Microsoft. Did that with 360.
June 11, 201313 yr Pricing doesn't really matter, it always evens out in the end. For people living outside of the US/UK, the TV features are a tad moot. True but I live in the UK.
June 11, 201313 yr I'll not be buying either (maybe when one is dirt cheap I'll consider it). Hugely disappointed in the new Xbox with their ridiculous controls. What happens if you go off on a months vacation abroad and want to turn all your electric off, are you simply not allowed to? F**k off!! Never rated the PS3 at all, Xbox much superior in every way (minus a bluray player). Edited June 11, 201313 yr by Zola
June 11, 201313 yr A bit frivolous, but the ground is ripe for a bit of Microsoft bashing at the moment! I really hope they relent, never thought I would seriously be considering switching over to Sony.
June 11, 201313 yr Been thinking and will definitely get a PS4. Only problem will be the controller, I have never ever liked the joysticks being on the same sort of level so will take some time getting used too.
June 11, 201313 yr Been thinking and will definitely get a PS4. Only problem will be the controller, I have never ever liked the joysticks being on the same sort of level so will take some time getting used too. I was thinking exactly the same. All these pictures and facts about how the PS4 is better and the entire time I was sat thinking; "f**k, look at the controller!"

Never rated the PS3 at all, Xbox much superior in every way (minus a bluray player). I think you misunderstand. You have to connect your xbox to the internet to play it. Once you've connected it to the internet you have 24 hours where you can keep playing without the internet before you have to reconnect it to the internet. I preferred the PS3 to the Xbox, but sold it when I was made homeless for a while, since then I bought an Xbox because that's what my mates have. Out of the two, the PS3 was a better machine with better games, crashed less and had better features and hardware. The Xbox has better online, but you have to pay for it. This time, I'm going for PS4 I reckon. I was willing to go either way depending on what was announced, but everything so far points to the PS4 for me.
June 11, 201313 yr Controller looks the same as they always have That's the problem though, I find it incredibly weird holding a PlayStation controller compared to an Xbox controller
