August 17, 201312 yr Really? I've always felt that PSN was were the brats all gathered. I certainly noticed the difference when I moved from PSN to XBL.
August 17, 201312 yr Author PC gaming is where its at. Much fewer kids on there since gaming PCs cost a hell of a lot more, 99% of the time it's adults you play against.
August 20, 201312 yr PS4 Release in EU: 29th of Nov PS4 Release in US: 15th of Nov Why do we always get screwed over here in Europe! :/
August 20, 201312 yr Xbox one big conference thing... http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/technology-science/xbox-one-gamescom-2013-10-2191236 All pretty boring, apart from the fact you get FIFA 14 free, if you pre order the One. Still nothing for me to justify spending all that money when there's nothing wrong with my 360. Put a cherry on the top microsoft!!
August 21, 201312 yr I feel the same, until the price of the one comes down by 1 or 2 hundred pounds then i wont bother with it. My xbox 360 does a fine job at the moment so no need to splash out over 400 quid.

October 3, 201312 yr Whens the new xbox out? How much will it be? Considering getting it for entertsinment purposes, bit of gaming too if my woman permits! Lol November 22nd, £430 just for the console. Not sure if there has been any bundles announced yet. EDIT: Just so you are aware there is currently no announcement as to when the TV features of the Xbox will work outside of America at the moment. Edited October 3, 201312 yr by ForeverCarefree
October 3, 201312 yr Thats a day after my birthday haha. Re: tv features.. really? Does apps like netflix etc count in that too?
October 3, 201312 yr Thats a day after my birthday haha. Re: tv features.. really? Does apps like netflix etc count in that too? No they should all work although I don't know for sure if they will be built in apps from launch. The Xbox is going to integrate with satellite/cable TV providers so that who hook it up to your Xbox and you can use the Kinect and voice commands to control it and stuff like that but as I say nearly all features away from the gaming side of things won't work outside of America on launch, which considering the cost of the console I personally think is a bit pants but it's going to have an 8-10 year life cycle so maybe I'm looking a little too short term.
October 3, 201312 yr Your probably not looking at a price drop on the console itself for about 12 months I reckon. There might be some decent bundle announced although you'll be looking at another £100 on top of the cost of the console so over £500 which is a huge investment. Sony has already confirmed a PS4 bundle which will include the console, 2 controllers, the PS Eye camera (which unlike the Kinect is being sold separately) and Killzone Shadow Fall for the same price as the Xbox One on its own.
October 3, 201312 yr Its not an xbox though! :D Yeah its pricey. Im certainly in no rush. I waited ages before I bought a 360...
October 3, 201312 yr I keep telling myself I'll wait for the PS4 but with both the PS3 and the PS Vita I ended up buying them within the first 6 months of their release.
October 3, 201312 yr I'll wait for xmas/new year or even the january sales for the PS4. Xbox one is delayed here and wont be released until mid 2014, what a major f**k up from MS :D
October 6, 201312 yr Well that's good news, wife's just got a new job and because I've been so wonderful she's getting me an Xbox one for Xmas. Lovely.
October 7, 201312 yr Well that's good news, wife's just got a new job and because I've been so wonderful she's getting me an Xbox one for Xmas. Lovely. Did she also say you can go out and buy yourself something pretty?
October 7, 201312 yr Did she also say you can go out and buy yourself something pretty? Yeah something like that. She wants me to get a dancing game for the kinnect, though I refused to get the spandex gear to dance in front of her in. Got some olive oil ready though. Struggling to get a day one edition though, found one on a site called simplygames.com, anyone ever used them?
October 7, 201312 yr PC gaming is where its at. Much fewer kids on there since gaming PCs cost a hell of a lot more, 99% of the time it's adults you play against. This I've been a console gamer since I was very young. Started off the with SNES which was incredible at the time (Super Mario World, Donkey Kong etc) and I've had most consoles since then but I just find the games lacking nowadays. GTA V is a great game but I just get bored of console games much quicker. I love my modding and RTS games so the PC will always give me more entertainment. I doubt I will be shelling out for the new xbox. Maybe when the price comes down.
October 7, 201312 yr I like the convenience of console gaming. For £400 odd quid you have a piece of kit with a 8 to 10 year life cycle which you know is going to consistently get good quality releases on. For me I'm set on Playstation because if nothing else their exclusives have been some of the best games I have played such as The Last of Us, the Uncharted series, God of War 3, Heavy Rain. I'm not too fussed about online gaming anymore so solid single player experience is enough for me and games like GTA or Dark Souls I get a hell of a lot of play time out of them.
October 7, 201312 yr Author It might last 8-10 years if you're very lucky, but even then the next one will be out in about 3-4 years and you have to shell out £400 quid again. At least with PCs you can just upgrade bits as and when you need them and can still play pretty much any game.
October 7, 201312 yr I would guess you will spend over £400 upgrading a PC over 5-6 years to keep up with newer PC games. For me it comes down to time and convenience like forevercarefree, I can't be arsed downloading new drivers, upgrading ram, gfx card, PSU etc to be able to play the newest game anymore. I used to love all that stuff, but I ain't got time anymore.
October 7, 201312 yr And a console is so much more these days than just a ganing system. And it wont look silly in your living room.
October 8, 201312 yr It might last 8-10 years if you're very lucky, but even then the next one will be out in about 3-4 years and you have to shell out £400 quid again. At least with PCs you can just upgrade bits as and when you need them and can still play pretty much any game. Both the Xbox One and PS4 are confirmed to have a life cycle of 8-10 years and I doubt there is going to be another competitor releasing a console during that time that will compete with either of them. If for whatever the console you buy on launch breaks down beyond repair after 4 or more years and you have to buy a replacement then the price drops will have come in by then and you're looking at £200(ish) for a replacement. For a bit of kit I use on nearly a daily basis and use as my CD/DVD/Blu Ray player on top of it being a games console plus using it for Netflix as well I personally think it is worth the money. I can't be bothered with the hassle of building a gaming PC and upgrading/repairing it I prefer to just buy a box that sits behind my TV and I'm done.
