Kevs been, now to set it up. Little uns tried to break it already, I put the box down to sign for it and she sat on it :).

I remember back in the early 90s my idiot little brother put a 2p in the original Nintendo cartirdge slot and fried it. Devastating at the time lol

The hype has got to me and now I want a PS4, to hell with waiting.

Should have pre-ordered like i did! Amazon says they don't have a delivery estimate for me at the moment, apart from the guarantee that it'll be "before Christmas". Annoyingly enough, FIFA 14 and Battlefield 4 will be arriving today! Great.

I don't really have the money but I'm going to buy one probably within the next 6 months because gaming is my main hobby.

 

Trouble is, now the PS4 release is here, I want it now.

 

There is one site I have found that says they will deliver before Christmas with everywhere else saying not until after.

 

I don't know whether to chance it and call into a couple of Game stores after the release on the off chance or if that is just a fools errand.

Yeah there was a cut-off date with Amazon. If you ordered it before September they guaranteed sending to you on launch. If you ordered before November 14th, like me, it's "before Christmas". After the 14th is after Christmas.

 

You might be lucky and manage to get your hands on one in Game, through probably not for a week or two after release.

Ha ha sod off, its for my wife and kid, honest.

Initial thoughts, the ui is so slick, voice control is massively impressive. Software update very quick, I was set up on kinect and everything in less than 20 minutes. Main downside so far is game install time, because the game installs any updates first they are taking ages probably due to networks getting battered. But navigating around the menus is brilliant, love that you can pin apps or games to your own page. Also, got the smartglass app on my tablet, again very impressive. Played forza only so far, incredible graphics and gameplay. The drivers ai seems to be the biggest leap forward though. Now, where did I put my leotard, got go dance darlings.

I've always been an xbox person and haven't owned a PS since like 2001? Somewhere around there, my last PS was the PS1, that grey old box with two buttons was great.

 

Other than that never been too keen PS. Though I've been convinced that I'll get a PS4 now mainly because the xbox needs kinect and I do not need it. But you're making me think twice.

 

How's the controller by the way? Is it much different from the last one, better, worst?

I buy middle of the road tyres at 60 quid a go and they are spot on. Dont see the point in spending crazy money on rubber. As long as you dint buy the absolute cheapest no name brand you will be fine.

You can get 4 tyres for about £100  at the place near where I work, apparently.

I might buy a PS4, but not for a year or so. The first wave of consoles always have loads of problems and you end up frustrated and having go return them to get them fixed.

Controller is excellent, trigger rumble felt a bit weird at first. Forza graphics are better, but its the driver ai which is a leap forward. Best thing I've found so far is being able to go back to home page while playing to mess around then instantly resuming a game.
