That's criminal, especially with Christmas coming up.

I'll probably end up getting one eventually but not before there's a half decent selection of games to chose from. Watch Dogs does look interesting but the launch games look quite uninspiring.

 

I've only bought the one game at launch which is Killzone and that's mainly because I played all the previous ones released on PS3 and really enjoyed them.

 

I've heard some rather underwhelming things about Battlefield 4 and CoD Ghosts about how they've transferred from the older consoles.

 

You get a couple of decent indie games free via PS+ which I already subscribe to and the online multiplayer of Killzone will help keep me going until games like Watchdogs and inFamous come out.

 

I don't plan on giving up on my PS3 just yet either. 

Is playstation home on the PS4?

 

 

Yup. 

Livid. I have to wait between now and Christmas Eve before I get my PS4. It's going to arrive at some point in between.

 

How does it play, what games have you got with it FCF?

I've only bought Killzone because the launch line up was mostly FPS games which doesn't really appeal although I might pick up Lego Marvel Superheroes at some point.

 

There is also a really cool indie game called Resogun that you get free if you have PS+ which is really addictive to play.

 

 

The graphics on Killzone are sublime, all the textures look so smooth and the colours look great.

 

Loving the Dualshock 4 controller too, it's a lot more robust and the triggered shoulder buttons do work better. 

 

I've still got some stuff to finish playing on my PS3 so I've set that up in the bedroom now.

 

I'm chuffed to bits with it though, it's very fast, the operating system is slick, I can't get over just how small it is and the console is only going to get better over time. 

Picking my PS4 uo tomorrow from Game. Ive had a 4 day weekend off work and they decided to tell me on the eve that I go back to work that my PS4 is ready to be picked up.

When I got my PS4 Friday I was going to my nan's for dinner in the evening so only got a short couple hours on it that night, then on the Saturday we had plans and I was busy until about six in the evening.

 

The nerdy gamer inside of me was not impressed. 

Unfortunately I went to work. Work always gets in the way of enjoying life doesn't it.

It provides money to buy things like the ps4 though...

Stupid work, spoils all our fun!

So hooked my HDMI splitter up and now I can watch sky on my xbox via snap and it can be non the TV as normal when the xbox is off. Its a great little app to have, I was on Forza buying cars last night while watching some random Pool thing on sky. 

 

And its nice to see my old 360 staying in the Chelsea family, hope you and your family enjoy it Barn.

"some random pool thing....." was the mosconi cup you bloody loon!  It's one of sports great spectacles.

 

For those that aren't aware Dickywhoa is a living legend, he's bubble wrapped his old 360, a load of games, his wife, two children (not sure if they were his or not), dog and a fish and sent them over to me to bring me nearly up to modern times in gamer-world.  I'm very very impressed, the graphics have moved on lots since the SNES.  It's actually quite exciting.

Finally got a delivery date from Amazon, my PS4 will be arriving in 10 days time.

 

HUZZAH! 

I didn't start the campaign mode of Killzone straight when I got the PS4, I played online for a couple of days first and so the last couple of nights I've started on the campaign.

 

Being a sucker for punishment I jumped straight into playing the game on hard mode to avoid rushing through the game too quickly and to be honest, I like a challenge.

 

After a very slow start whilst trying to adjust to a steep learning curve of how best to take on the AI and to use weapons and the OWL (which is very cool) I've started to find my rhythm with the game and am getting through the levels without too much trouble.

 

The graphics really are gorgeous, I honestly wasn't expecting too much of a step up graphics wise especially with a game that is one of the first on the new console as generally graphics improve over time once the dev teams unlock the full potential of consoles but the game really does look truly impressive and I'm really excited for some of the releases coming out. 

My PS4 arrived last night but every now and then the screen flickers, about every minute or so. It doesnt seem that often but once you notice it, its really annoying!

It cant be a problem with the disc because it happens on the main screen also and I've checked that the HDMI cable is properly plugged in at both ends so does anyone have any ideas what it might be before I contact shopto to find out what the crack is? My first instinct is that it might of been knocked about a bit in the back of the couriers van which may have damaged something internally.

This is annoying!

Oh not good. Are you sure its not TV related as opposed to PS4 ? Have you tried it on another TV?

Might be worth checking the ports on the tv, PS4 and the HDMI lead teeth very closely, any damage done to those?

If not and its happening on another TV then I'd take it back.

I just Googled it and it looks like some people do have this issue, found a video of someone who managed to fix it, skip to around 1.12 to get to the fix.

Mine does that somtimes actually. I had the same problem with my ps3 but then I bought a new HDMI cable and it was sorted. Try changing the wire or getting a better quality one.

Will try both when I get home tonight cheers fellas!
