Next generation consoles

Featured Replies

I just looked the problem up, its to do with a poor WiFi connection, hardwire to your router with a CAT5 cable for a stable connection if possible or consider moving your PS4 within a better range.

Otherwise maybe consider upgrading your router because if the issue is your WiFi connection quality then you might still have issues on the Xbox which also is dependant on a constant quality internet connection.

Cheers for doing that. I don't see how my Xbox 360 works perfectly fine if its a wi fi problem though? It does work a bit better with an Ethernet cable but still not great.

The more I hear about the new consoles, whether it's from mates, posts on here, or somewhere else, the more relieved I am that I decided not to get one.

There are obviously some upgrades but £350-£430 worth? No chance. Sounds like neither were properly ready for release.

They'll obviously come good when all the issues are sorted but if I'd got the day one version and then have battlefield 4 not work online for weeks and weeks, I'd be absolutely steaming.

Surprised that the Xbox hasn't had a good deal on it yet now that we are into January.

Who will drop their price first?

Will it be summer time before its down much at all?

There won't be a price drop on the console itself for 12-18 months.

The games will go down in price eventually and so you'll get some decent bundle offers but the consoles will stay the same price whilst the demand is as high as it is.

I've seen a few people selling Xbox's on Facebook groups recently though, one recent one was because the guy couldn't get his Live account to connect properly on two different Xbox's, so maybe try places like that.

aaaaaaaand this is why PC > Consoles.

I just got a bunch of games on the Steam Sale for ridiculous prices (Dishonoured for £3)

There won't be a price drop until they can actually make the consoles cheaper.

The Xbox is expensive because of Kinect and because the workaround for the Xbox having incredible slow ram was to add a bit of memory to the main chip, increasing its size.

Golden rule is that the larger the chip, the more expensive it is. PS4 and xbox both use 28nm whereas current PC gear is 22nm. That's one big cost saving measure. Smaller chips use less power so the PSU shrinks, the cooling shrinks, more savings. Then there's the RAM and HDD which will become cheaper (although HDDs tend to reach a 'minimum' price so the savings tend to turn into increased capacity).

But anyhow, I got burnt with the Wii U I bought it at launch and have probably spent less than 10 hours playing it. Won't be buying a PS4 until there's something I really want out for it. Destiny is probably the first thing that interests me, KH3 and FFXV are must haves.

I totally regret buying my Xbox One. First off it's not backwards compatible. Secondly Fifa is glitchy as f**k, but that's EA's fault. Thirdly there are zero games for it, and none coming out for months. Dark Souls II being the only Xbox One game coming in the next 6 months. Don't waste your money on an Xbox One till Destiny comes out next year. Just buy some RAM for your PC because there's lots to play on PC this year.

Dark Souls isn't going to be on the new consoles, it's releasing on PS3 and 360.

March is going to be a tough month for me, Dark Souls comes out on the 14th and I'll probably need two copies so that me and the wife can play it at the same time and then just a week later inFamous Second Son is coming out on PS4 and it's looking epic.

Why did I get an Xbox One? Why? It f**king sucks more with each passing day. It's an empty vessel.

Ill take it off your hands for 250, cut your losses and move on ya know?

:)

Tried it in for a PS4. Do it man.

I know what you mean though. Theres a lack of games out on the PS4 as well. Most of them dont come ouut after March or later on in the year. Frustrating. I dont know why developers have not bothered making games.

Bloody weather, we had a bit of a storm last night and the power played up, must've been a surge. In the morning I couldn't get my Xbox to turn on, queue unbridled panic.

Fortunately it was only the power brick that got fried, I've switched back to the old brick from my original (rrod'd) 360 and everything is fine.

I wish I could afford to make the switch to next-gen, I've got to buy a new bed for uni first.

I want a ps4 but think i'll wait until autumn or so, no rush really as there isnt really any games out, can still enjoy fifa and gta on my 360 when bored.

Besides there isnt even any consoles in stock here in Sweden, end of march or so is when they start getting shipped in again, ridiculous.

I love my PS4.

Resogun, Assassins Creed 4, Battelfield 4 and FIFA 14 are more than enough to keep me occupied til Watch_Dogs comes out in March.

I think a lot of stock has been held back for the Japanese release next month, the country that makes the console hasn't even had the chance to buy it yet!

Xbox aren't even bothering to release in Japan which is why Sony delayed the release in their home nation to get stock out to other regions.

I got that max brotherhoid game for xbox one and its excellent, a lovely little game. An indie game I think.
