But yes, 25, makes some great runs and nevver gives up, unlike a certain blonde spaniard. His record at WBA is 12 in 44 though. 3 this season already, so there seems to be a huge improvement on last year.

He shows how hard work and a little skill can take you along way as a striker , something our expensive acquisition would do well to follow. If he applied himself anything like Shane did we would have a far better player and one the fans could fall in love with easier.

Torres does apply himself though, he's been known to work hard with u's but fails in the part we need him most.

I question his ability as a striker but his workrate in general at Chelsea is not a issue with me...

and today? Yes he does put himself about when he feels like it sadly that isnt extend to away matches when we really need all hands on deck.

You feel his workrate today was comparable to Longs? Why do you think Long is taken off so often with 20 or 30 minutes left? He runs himself into the ground every match. Torres falls over, runs at a defender every so often yes, but his runs are incomparable to Shane Longs.

Based on todays game I'd happily give them Torres, Sturridge and money for Long.

If we would have followed this principle over the last couple of years we'd have a squad in the 100's !!!!!

I'm probably in the minority here but I think Long is an average, at very best, kind of player. He's got some skill but is far too inconsistent for West Brom let alone a team with higher aspirations. I'd say the Championship is probably his level.

The boy Rhodes is probably the best finisher outside of the Premiership - more of me thinks ''our age policy' put us out of a move for Van Persie and I have no doubt had we signed him and not Utd we would be safely in the next phase of the CL and top of the Premiership.

In short we lost one of if not the best centre forward in the world in Drogba and never replaced him and ultimately it could cost Robbie his job at the seasons end.

Van Persie wasnt interested in joining us. It wasnt much of a decision to make.

Hilarious that people are comparing him to Torres btw. Playing striker for WBA is a completely different ball game then starting for CFC.

Not so sure about any of the names bar Falcao.

So many players have scored for fun in Holland, Belgium, Championship but struggle at top clubs like Chelsea.

Falcao is someone who has scored prolifically in Spain, Portugal, Internationally and in Europe. He is the only one ou there who I think an take us to the next level (on par with United and City).

I've seen him live 6 times and followed his career closely since his League of Ireland days. I mentioned on the match day thread before the match that we needed to be wary of him.

He moves well, can play down the middle but also moves well out wide, he has a great leap, but most importantly he has great belief in himself. I think he would grow in a team like ours with good players around him.

I'm not suggesting him as our "main man" but as a really good addition to our squad without having to mortgage Luxembourg to buy him.

Having said all that I am fully aware that there is absolutely now way on earth we would ever buy him.
