End of day if Chelsea are interested in Mourinho they can pin all their hopes on him definitely choosing to return to us.

It makes sense that they would sound out other potential candidates and Pellegrini seems a sensible option.

Love that mate.."

They also said at some point last week that there was no contact between Mouirnho and Chelsea".

David coleman would be proud of that statement... ;-)

Huh?

What do you think of Pellegrini? Great manager and all, but let's just get Mourinho back and start jumping over the two Manchester clubs.

I would easily prefer Mourhino, however even if we don't get him (I think we will) we will get a good manager. Manuel Pellegrini is a good manger and I would love to have him at the club.

What makes him a great manager? From what i have read he hasnt won anything of interest. Why is he different from the likes of Robbie or AVB? Well apart from they won cups and in AVB's case the league. I can see the same thing happening with this guy what happened to Robbie and we will be back here again this time next year wondering who our new manager will be.

The board should just go for Jose. You cant get a better manager.

Maybe this can help you.

Just get Mou.

Else Manuel Pellegrini is a very good option. Class man. Class manager. I enjoyed watching his Villarreal that enjoyed 2nd above Barcelona and his Malaga side are good to watch as well.

Led Villareal and Malaga on deep CL runs, each on their first time in the competition, and the one year he was at Real Madrid he broke their points record with a tally better than two of Jose's three seasons there (albeit with worse cup performances).

Certainly Jose should be the first choice, but the board really should be talking to multiple people in case that move breaks down, and Pellegrini's an obvious candidate for the shortlist given his CL experience and likely desire to leave Malaga.

Not to forget he broke Barcelona's and Real Madrid's stranglehold when Villarreal finished 9 points ahead of Barcelona

He's been in Europe 9 years and he's only won the Intertoto Cup, this despite being Read Madrid manager for a year and spending a record amount in one year.

Done well at modest clubs but Chelsea is a whole new ball game, particularly regarding the press and hostility from all sides.

He's handsome but not as handsome as Jose. Real Madrid preferred Jose and so should we.

England is completely different to Spain and I think Manuel is more suited there.

Davey Baby says no.

Thats lovely but what has he actually won? He spent a crazy amount of money with Madrid and didnt win anything. He gets teams through into the Champions league, ok big deal. He hasnt actually won anything.

I would rather the Juve manager if we cant get Jose to be honest.

But, David, take the Real Madrid bit out and that's exactly Moyes, your current favourite!

Well, winning isnt everything. He had 1 crack at a club which can win trophies.

As far as his Real Madrid season goes, he didnt want Robben and Sneijder to be sold. That was pretty unbalanced team tbh. Still I think he did well to get 96 points and 100+ goals.

If we cant get Jose then i think we should go for Jose, and if that fails we should push the boat out for Jose and in the end if all else fails we should go for Jose.

I wouldn't be unhappy with Pellegrini - he has proven at Malaga that he's not a one-hit wonder. His time at Real isn't the most encouraging but I don't think he deserved the sack for it; I suppose Mourinho is a name which rang out as strongly in Madrid as it does here so we can't judge him too harshly.

He has a keen tactical awareness and probably deserves another crack at a top-level club. He is certainly an improvement on what we have now. I get the feeling that he might be a good fit for us, however I get an equally strong feeling that he will be another of many esteemed continental managers to pass through the revolving doors at Stamford Bridge. José is clearly the priority, but Pellegrini's name deserves a place on the shortlist.
