I think the yellow card thing has been playing on his mind. Especially with his game where he prevents counter attacks being made when we're up the pitch picking up a yellow is very easy.

He has been poor to average for a considerable period of time now.

If Mikel had played like Matic did today for most of the game I can only imagine the caning he would have got from some on here.

Still a young player and it's a role that takes a bit of maturity. Also maka had one job, matic role it the team tends to change

No but recently it may have, he hasn't looked tired lately just abit well reluctant at times

bit harsh, it's his first full season in England and i think he, as well as all the other newer ones, are feeling it right now. 

Today, I just think he held on to the ball for too long and took too many touches before releasing it. His passing was also quite poor. I'm not sure what's causing the lack of form.

I think the too many touches thing is what is causing his indifferent form right now. I preferred the Matic in the first half of the season, the Matic that would break up play and get us moving again. This Matic has become sloppy and holds up the ball far too long. I don't really know why he has changed his game like this, maybe the yellow card has been playing on his mind. Hopefully now that he doesn't have to worry about it, he can get back to himself.

Great player, still terribly 1 footed, which is why he got caught a lot more in possession now, people started to figure that out. He had that yellow card thing in his head yesterday, and didnt commit himself to the tackle as usual, turned out to be good in the end. 't will be a gigantic battle this weekend against Fellani.
