I personally think the reason why Fabregas and Matic have been getting caught on the ball lately is due to the lack of movement up front. It must also play on their minds that if they pass the ball to Oscar or Willian, things may just fizzle out. This is what i mean by it only takes one out of form player to mess up the teams chemistry.

Agreed, i lost count today of the times where fabregas was facing our attackers who were all just stood still, none moving at all.

Have to wonder if he aggravated the injury. No way Jose would replace him at such a crucial stage otherwise.

 

Hopefully won't be missing for too long but may be a doubt for the Saints game now. Back to Zouma in the middle I guess if that is the case.

It's strange, in the first half of the season the players movement was top notch. We were spreading the ball left and right, players were supporting each other, the speed of our play was good, we controlled the tempo of games and knew the right time to play the killer pass. Now though we are getting hardly any of this.

 

I would love to know what game made the players lose their confidence so badly.

Fantastic player. But i think he's at his very, very best in a 433 system.

 

Thats also the system i would want Mourinho to implement from next season on. With one midfield signing i think it will suit us better then 4231.

He was releasing the ball earlier, but after the spurs game his form has been off and he has been fannying about with the ball too much and in dangerous positions too.

He was so consistent for the first half of the season. Need him back to his best for a smooth run in.

Second half reminded us all of what we've been missing from him. Those driving runs through the middle. Still not at hundred percent but a very good second half.

QPR won't be easy match so I actually would like to see him play. I just hope he won't do any stupid tackles.

Without suspension hanging over him hopefully it takes the shackles off a little bit.

Very average again as he has been since the new year. Struggled to contain Barton who was the main man for them.

If we had a class alternative on the bench you could easily make a case for Matic to be dropped. If he isn't winning those tackles and making quick accurate passes he offers little else. I am amazed how poor is in the air for a man his size.

He was excellent in the first half of the season but it is worrying how he has tailed off for so long. In Maka and Essien we had two greats of the game. Matic isn't even remotely close to those two on current form.

I do wonder if the yellow card thing has hindered him last few games, it especially looked that way today. We need him on firm for the next two.
