Could anyone find a more incompetent bunch of idiots if they tried, they have come up with the most obvious objectives but not stated how to achieve them, objectives are as follows;

-Improve England's success at international level

-Create an environment where players want to play for England

-Improve how talent is identified

-Have more English players starting in the premier league

-Reach the Euro semi-finals in 2020 and win the World Cup 2022

I had no idea Ritchie Humphreys was still playing, I remember him and Andy Hinchcliffe tearing up the left flank for Wednesday during the nineties.

 

The only names on there I am happy to see are Hoddle and Gradi; Hoddle has his academy (plus good experience with us), although there are obvious doubts over his various 'spiritual beliefs', plus the fact that he hasn't been involved in football in any serious way for nearly a decade. Dario Gradi is perfect for this though, he spent about twenty years keeping Crewe alive by bringing through lumpy English players and turning them into footballers. The rest are either idiots, totally irrelevant, or haven't been involved in football for about ten years in any genuine capacity beyond cashing cheques.

 

Personally I think our best bet of this being successful is to have as few English people involved as possible...

Ah well that's us f**ked then. As for Rio Ferdinand, I'm pretty sure the only reason he's involved is because the rest of the panel are middle-aged white guys (except Danny Mills who's a youngish white guy).

 

If we do make the 2022 World Cup (and we should, really) then I hope this lot don't get the credit for it.

Just heard the press conference, basically they want to bring in 'league 3' which will be made up of B teams from top clubs. These teams can't get higher than league 1 and won't be able to play in cup competition (not sure how much they are going to develop playing average opposition). Also they are really trying to limit non home grown players, they want to eventually bring in around 15, can't remember exactly which number they said, they want to limit non EU players to just 4 for the squad.

Basically it seemed just just wanna pack the prem with English players, doesn't matter if the quality declines but I think they assume the more English players there are the more likely the chances that there will be good players.

All of the money wasted coming up with this idiotic plan could have been ploughed into developing english talent instead. I have a much cheaper and simpler one point plan to improve english football. Replace the idiots who run our national game with a body which is fit for purpose to do so!

Even Hoddle is questionable, his academy doesn't really seem to be working and I don't think his experience with us counts for much when it comes to grassroots football but I suppose he's not the worst offender on this list.

Reading through the report now, Im simply glowing with pride at the club, for our under 21 games we have the highest average attendance out of everyone, by 1100 ish, our nearest rival is 800 (Gooners).

 

Alot of these proposals seem quite good. The B team league will grab the headlines but the Stategic Loan Parnterships look very decent, esentially enhancing the Feeder club partnerships we "have" now to include a coaching partnership too.

 

Criticism of High manager turn over, which has affected us probably more than most and noteably, a lack of Strategic management of players being loaned by clubs. i.e Players go on loan to whoever wants them rather than the club assesing the needs of the players and targetting clubs to loan him to, I think we are probably one of the best for this, Lukaku is a prime example of up really targetting the right club for a player.

 

There also is a very loose realisation that PL clubs would need to add money to the FL to counter balance any loss in revenue. Paying the FL for their B Teams essentially.

 

Overall I think its a step in the right direction, will require some tinkering to please everyone but im 100% for change for the better,

I can imagine the thought process... The big clubs in Spain and Germany have B teams in the lower leagues. Spain and Germany have better national teams than we do. Ergo, let Chelsea and co put their B teams in League One and we're sure to win the World Cup.

The problem I have with the b team is that these youth players are going to get playing experience but at a low level. The highest they can play is at league 1, only slightly higher than at youth level in my opinion. Chelsea have loads of players out on loan playing at high level and they are still not going to get into our first team, we don't buy players from the championship let alone lower so how is it goning to help produce players with enough quality to play for our first team? If we are forced to take these players so we meet the English player quota it's just gonna bring the standard of football down, ok there might be a few more English players to chose from but the level will be a lot lower and were already struggling in Europe as a country, we may as well not enter if this system comes in

I just don't get what players are gonna get from playing long ball on sh*t pitches? I don't watch any lower league Spanish teams but I could imagine they try to pass the ball around, over here I've seen quite a fair ammount of league 2 football, it is shocking.

The worry for me is that if they are forcing an unreasonable amount of home grown players on premier league teams the top players will all go to the top teams, half of them sitting on the bench e.g centre backs who won't get any playing time if they aren't first choice. How is that going to be the best thing for the national team? This will also bring the quality of the league down, look at Spain and Germany they have a couple of great times and the rest are very poor. There is no evidence that this will work over here, all guess work. If youth players playing in lower leagues worked why don't we do it already?

As much as I don't like lower league football there are plenty of people who do, b teams make a mockery of lower teams and what makes English football great
