Liverpool agree deal for Ings

More mediocrity heading to Liverpool.

So from a team that not long ago boasted a side containing Alonso, Gerrard and Mascherano will now consist of Kolo Toure, Joe Allen and Danny Ings?

If there is anyone else who totally and utterly fails to grasp a simple point then feel free to chime in.

I grasp the simple point, but only chimed in as your comment directed at Gem and the moderators is without understanding, and appreciation, of their role.

Would they really ?

You are a moderator and a frequent poster. You frequent the match threads. You KNOW it is happening. The fact is, you choose to do nothing about it. So, what's the point of me informing you when all you will do is what you have done historically and sit on your hands over the matter ?

What the f**k is it to you anyway? Are you a copper or somethin? Get a life

Hang on. But I do understand their role, don't I ? Otherwise I wouldn't be taking issue with them ignoring something which is the very essence of their role, ie reducing the liability of the site owners by eliminating activity that can be construed as illegal.

It's all  the others that don't understand it, that are the problem.

I think he may be doing it in purpose to try and go out in a blaze of glory.

Hang on. Didn't you cry off and put me on ignore ?

I'm sure crem has never ever broken the law, ever. What an amazing man, we should all be honoured he's here to keep us on the straight and narrow with his preaching.

For the record I do get Crem's point and I'm looking into it (how to manage it etc), the last thing we want to do is get the board into trouble. We've been running for nearly 10 so ideally we don't want to do anything that would jeopardise that.

Speaking of coppers, I'm more concerned about the state of our police force, the CSA enquiry and so on than streaming, priorities and all that.

Thank you Gem! Thank you very much !

EDIT: I wouldn't go over board personaly. I'd just change the T and Cs , ensure they contain reference to links to illegal sites .. blah blah, and then make sure no obvious thread content contained them (and some effort is made to police it)

Tbh Gem people will watch streams anyway only thing this board could really do is stop people posting links to them but I actually don't think that is against the law.

You won't.

My friend runs Rangersmedia (same set up to this site but on a biggesr scale) links are posted all the time, we have had no problems at all and that's been going since 2005/6.

You don't get in trouble for sharing links, they are merely links. What one person does with them is at their discretion, solely.

This is the nuts and bolts of it really.

I think you will find ever single footy forum (or any other sport) you go onto have links posted daily....it's certainly not illegal.

'All the others' , a number of posts among, I think the million mark was met (mods correct me if I'm wrong), many.

Take legal action yourself if you feel so strongly, adding reference to all other forums encompassing social media; should you win you would be the first person to crack policing the internet which could only benefit society and make you a fortune.

Sort of correct. But as site owners you need to make an effort to (a) police it and (b) to eliminate your own liability (by policing it and demonstrating you do)

Haymarket, who own Pistonheads, were getting into a lot of trouble recently that people were copying and pasting content without the owners permission to their site. When it was privately owned then it was not a problem (and I know the original owner), but as soon as it went to a public limited company their liability started to get very serious.

Again - missing the point. Try again.

Well considering it's been going on for years and we're still here I'd guess not too. We have been threatened with legal action once and that was for posting the Premier League fixtures when they were announced... Copyright or something, who'd have thought?

I would agree that if any member (not solely directed at Crem by any means) does not like how the forum is run, the activity or the content then they should leave.

A & B - They really don't though. Maybe you should take you shock and disbelief elsewhere and leave us heathens to it

Erm, yes they do.  I have friends that own sites that will tell you that you need to make an effort to distance yourself from illegal activity on your website. Any business solicitor will tell you the very same thing.

I'll wait for the 'drink responsibly' tag on the beer thread, and for a pop up whenever anyone mentions a bender or hangover, so the mods aren't jeopardising our health.

Time for morning coffee I think.
