Couldn't think of anywhere else to post this

Lineker and Gerrard among others will be working for BT sport.

Because having Michael Owen send us to sleep with his monotone commentary wasn't bad enough, they then added Paul Scholes who has the emotional range of a tin of tuna they've now recruited Slippy G who also has the personality of plank of wood whenever on TV.

Throw in Hoddle making up footballing terminology and Hargreaves being the 3rd wheel in all conversations it doesn't really look promising does it?

So is Linekar leaving BBC?

Also Gerrard? What's he gonna do fly in from the U.S.?

It's bad enough they have Robbie Savage (who I do like) as a commentator given his very nasely voice

No he's not leaving, he got his contract re done so he could do both I think.

Am I right in saying BT Sport remains free with Infinity (Virgin XL) but the £5 a month is for BT Sport Europe ?

I have the basic TV package with BT (£5 a month I think)

Wonder if I'll get the Europe package free

As far as I know having BT means having a little more footie than already on Sky, but will mean having much more CL.

Don't think I worded that well, here you go:

Why do they need such a big punditry team? Unless they're gonna stick some of them on commentary ugh!

Three nights a week they'll be covering European football.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays for Champions League and Thursday nights for Europa League.

They've got the rights to every single game, so might be two different teams on different channels.

So Gerrard is going to be flying between Europe & America to offer his insightful views?

Talk about waste of money, the wetters towel out there.

What a load of sh*te, all the CL games on BT Sport is ridiculous, and one company should not be allowed to have 100% coverage in my opinion.

I have Sky Sports, no BT Broadband, so I'll be looking at £13.50+ a month just to get one channel.  f**k that, especially with Gerrard as a commentator, Jesus Christ.

I also read that apparently 13 (?) CL games will be free of charge to watch, plus the final??  That's not bad if true, plus Sky still have the majority of Premier League games.

All that exposure to cabin air will make him sound even worse.

Agreed mate, it's a load of bollocks. All comes down to OFCOM breaking up the domestic packages which gave BT a foot in the door.

Damn!  This seems complicated.  I have only just got the Now box which I didn't mind paying for the odd match on sky - either one-off or for a week.  But can't get BT on it.  How do you watch the free to air BT stuff?  Or how do you subscribe to BT sport without changing your broadband supplier or whatever?  Technology options are so bloody complicated!

Edit - it seems to me that you can only have BT TV with BT broadband.  Is that right?

No Idea but I have both.

Not sure why you would get BT Tv if you had Cable or Sky since both are better value and more channels.

Haven't got Cable or Sky.  Can't get cable here and I don't want to fork out for sky as I don't watch it enough to be worth it - I thought the Now box was ideal because I could just pay as I go for Chelsea matches.  But that seems buggered now for CL.  So back to streaming I guess.   Or down the pub.
