We got Matic in the January transfer window. Sold Luiz the following Summer.

It was Mata and KDB that we sold to bring in Matic and Salah.

Yes, you're quite right of course.

Would love to still have KDB as a squad member rather than have Salah and Cuadrado on the books.

Have to disagree there FC. Surely Luiz going allowed us to bring in Matic?

I would take KDB over Salah & Cuadrado and if we had kept him, he could have come in for the struggling Oscar last season and we may have had the PL wrapped up by Easter!!

you cannot write him off yet anyone who is/has looks like a right boob currently tbh

It’s been well documented that KDB was unwilling to fight for his place in the team and demanded to be on the teamsheet every week. For a 20 year old kid to make those kinds of demands, a la Romelu Lukaku, stinks of a poor attitude to me. If you’re unwilling to fight then you have no chance at all under Jose. So the right call was made at the time, especially when you consider how many AM’s we had.

That said, I’m a big fan of KDB’s talents. He’s one of the brightest prospects in Europe and will most probably be a top quality player in the long run. I’d love to still have him in the squad, he can play across any of the AM positions, is a good set piece taker with a great passing range and in future could even play deeper. He’d be a great asset for anyone.

I think the move to Chelsea came too early for him, sadly. I think his ego got to him a little when he signed for us, I’m not sure he realised just how great a minefield the loan system can be for upcoming prospects on our books. In an ideal world, he would have either stayed on loan a little longer, matured a bit more and maybe then he’d have realised what it would take to make it here. Just wasn’t going to work out with us though unfortunately for various reasons, that’s the transfer market for you.

like you say all he had to do was be paid like 80 bloomin grand a week, work hard and show a strong team eithic, not exactly landing on the moon is it..

'oh no they've sent me on loan to get the exact on pitch playing time im moaning about, screw this too much like hard work, I think ill just leave and go somewhere to have my ego stroked, preferably by some german wenches...'

You paint quite a picture :laugh2:

Not writing him off. As the well worn cliche goes, it's still early days. But that clock is ticking.

I need some back up, need some piss taking pics of Leeds, in a banter war with Leeds fans on my football Facebook group lol

IIRC, I think 5 of Vinnie Jones's top 10 from his "Soccer's Hard Men" controversial video were from that 1970's "Dirty Leeds" team

He didn't "demand" anything. KDB was smart enough to acknowledge his limitations at that time and realised very early on that he would develop better with regular games rather than sitting on the bench. Nothing wrong with that.

Interesting to see KDB say this in that article: "My time at Chelsea wasn’t bad. Everybody talks about it and that it was really bad but I just decided I didn’t want to stay at the club under those circumstances, I just wanted to play football and that’s what I did."

He's a great player but if he wasn't going to fit in Jose's system I'll back Jose.

lol i didnt realise diaby was being paid 80k a week for 9 years and had 40 injuries and only made 124apps hahahahahahaha
