no, you couldnt

You really could, YouTube videos take those tiny moments and combine them into one which often gives a false impression of a players ability. Gibson for example has scored some absolute belters, a video compilation of those could make you think he's better than what he is.

£32.5 million for Benteke, really? Surely that is just a tad overpriced!? Brilliant for Villa though if they can get that for him!

Well it's a buyout clause. Villa don't wanna sell and shouldn't have to unless the price is decent which at £32.5 mil would be.

i like how 1 goal constitutes 'highlights'. the fact that its the best you couldve come up with only reaffirms my argument

How does it? He'a scored a fair few belters.

So are you honestly not saying YouTube videos for average players that make them look like a they're great don't exist?

Ah I see, that makes more sense.  Still don't think he is worth that though, wouldn't be too happy at Chelsea meeting that price for him.

I agree but you can't blame Villa for saying its that or we keep him.

In all seriousness though I am very much in the FOR Pogba camp.

Honestly I have no idea how good he is or isn't but I just don't think YouTube videos prove anything.

You're right, can't blame them at all, good on Villa because either way they keep a decent striker or get a hefty fee for him.

f**king love transfer season!!

Once again it shakes me to my inner most core that I agree with you. My initial post on the subject (where I too mention about the stadium's condition wouldn't have mattered if fans are fleeing for their lives) was more of a diplomatic post, I don't want to make cheap shots against any club using deaths of people as a reason... but I agree. They've got away with an act that I feel any other club, English or otherwise, would not get away with. I can't believe I've read opinions that they're not to blame and it's the fault of what I've already detailed. They're never ashamed of anything but the lack of recognition of the incident is abhorrent, especially as they lost lives too, albeit not as many. I wish they were pulled up on it, but they won't be.

I don't see how it's a cheap shot. If they're going to mention how classy they are all the time, whilst labelling the supporters of other clubs as scum (namely Chelsea), then why shouldn't it be mentioned? The subject shouldn't just be swept under the carpet. People are quick to mention the abuse Canoville got in 1982.

I just know most of my comments about Liverpool are cheap shots...!

The only cheap shot was their chairman at the type blaming Chelsea fans for what happened.

Colin Murray took 2 hrs 45 mins of his show to give Heysel a mention today. It warranted a slot of about 3 mins and comprised of the shame to British football, neglecting it was his own fans involved bar a brief mention that Juventus fans chose to turn their backs on the Scousers during a minutes silence in 2005,their choice he said as if all should be just forgotten.

How in the hell did they manage to come to that conclusion?

If you mention Heysel they say "that's low that is. Using the deaths of people to score points". Erm...it isn't point scoring at all. Just mentioning a historical event in which their supporters were responsible for the death of 39 people to highlight their hypocrisy. Imagine if it had been Millwall, Cardiff or Chelsea. It'd be mentioned regularly.

How in the hell did they manage to come to that conclusion?

They reckon a load of Chelsea fans travelled to cause trouble. Despite all those charged with man slaughter coming from the north west.

Christ, I've never read that opinion/story... words fail me.

The then-Liverpool chairman suggested Southern accents were heard amidst the carnage. Not impossible but there's been utterly no proof for it.

If you want to be truly disgusted then Google 'Heysel Munich Banners'.

Oh, and this was their captain on the day, Phil Neal's, reaction to being asked for a comment on the 20th anniversary of the tragedy by Jamie Jackson of The Guardian.

Phil Neal
Then: Liverpool captain, 34
Now: Merseyside Radio commentator

I'd rather forget that night. It was an ordeal. But, Jamie, why should I help you out? I'm helping you pay your mortgage [by talking to you about Heysel]. When people ask me for my view, they usually have to pay for it. You're asking for my help for nothing. To pay your mortgage, Jamie. I mean, what do you want from me?

I just thought that as the captain of Liverpool football club on that night at Heysel it would be good to hear your view?

Yes but what do you want from me? If I talk to you for a few minutes, then I'm helping you pay your mortgage and what am I getting in return? Do you know what I mean?

Well, I have been to Italy and talked with some of the families of the victims and they say that the trophy should be given back by Juventus to commemorate what happened.

About Juventus? Why are you asking me? Why are you asking someone on the Liverpool side? Juventus made amends very soon. Ask them ... Jamie I'm helping you pay your mortgage. People who want my views pay.

I'm sorry, but everyone else I have spoken to has ...

Great. So you've spoken to people, you've got your views. You've got your Liverpool view, but if you want mine for free, well people pay for them.

You'll Never Pay Your Mortgage Alone.

That can't be real. I refuse to believe that a player that was there is using his memories of an awful event as a means of monetary compensation. I just.....WOW.

This notion that ‘Chelsea and/or other London hooligans were to blame’ seems fairly fanciful from what I’ve read. The vast majority of first-hand accounts of Juventus fans pins the blame firmly on the Liverpool fans, as do most of the books and other publications that have been written about the tragedy. I’m sure that there were Chelsea, Millwall, West Ham etc in Brussels there on the day as it was customary back then for firms of clubs to travel abroad to wherever other English clubs were. Sadly, any excuse for a tear-up it would seem. But there just doesn’t seem to be any concrete evidence to suggest that non-Liverpool fans were culpable. Ultimately, it’s only some of those connected to Liverpool that think this, whilst all those that were charged in the aftermath were from the North West of England.
