February 17, 201511 yr is there an expiry date on when the FA are enraged about infidelity and not being allowed to captain the national side as a consequence? Well considering John Terry regained the England captaincy in 2011, apparently there is.
February 17, 201511 yr Inconveniently for the FA Bridges EX girlfriend, never went down the kiss and tell route and always denied the affair strenuously...What ever the truth of it, I think the overreacted, because once again certain sections of the Press were "outraged" by JT's carryings on. Its funny because a few years later Rio Ferdinand organised a Man U Christmas do, which the WAGS were banned from, and he bussed in girls from here there and everywhere for what amounts to an orgy, young Jonny Evans was arrested for rape, (but not charged I hasten to add) I have yet to see that ever mentioned over and over again apart from the reporting of it at the time, its like it simply never happened...! And it certainly never stopped Rio from getting the Captaincy neither did his numerous driving offences.
February 17, 201511 yr To be absolutely honest it took me a while to warm to Terry. I didn't like what he did, but it was nowhere near the disgraceful, prolonged behaviour of Rooney and Giggs. Nowadays I have nothing but respect for JT as he learned from his mistake and he is an amazing captain and player. JT deserves to be rewarded with a key role in the future.

February 17, 201511 yr She would have had to have signed some sort of confidentiality agreement as well, otherwise I'm sure she would have kissed and told by now...Maybe... To be honest Blue Daze now you are using "rumours" for your argument, it comes across as you being so determined to prove the opposite to the thread title, that you're clutching at straws. Either way whatever her financial agreement with JT it is not really down to the FA to take a moral stand about this, while over looking a fully fledged sex party, with actual witnesses and an arrest, involving the country's most high profile club.

Lamps also caused a 9/11 upset apparently, but plays for NYC. Mention this as it's interesting how much is and isn't made of misdemeanours according to who it involves.

Either way whatever her financial agreement with JT it is not really down to the FA to take a moral stand about this, while over looking a fully fledged sex party, with actual witnesses and an arrest, involving the country's most high profile club. The whole JT and Rooney stuff is predicated on rumours that were reported in the media, yet when I talk about other rumours that were in the media then it's 'clutching at straws'? JT had the captaincy stripped from him for allegedly sleeping with a teammate's ex-partner. The whole thing is based on rumour and is obviously more complicated than that. Simple fact is that he regained the captaincy before losing it again in the whole Ferdinand thing. This all came up because someone brought up Rooney being made the captain after his scandal, except his scandals were about FOUR YEARS before his captaincy which is four times the amount of time that passed between JT's scandal and him regaining the armband. You've made some good points in this thread by referencing actual writers who you think might have a bias against us but now you're just wrong in my opinion in your assessment of my arguments. To be absolutely honest it took me a while to warm to Terry. I think that's the key thing, that in recent years he's just knuckled down and perhaps become a better player because of it. I'd say he's now a credit to this club and that's coming from someone who wasn't particularly fond of him during the scandals.
February 17, 201511 yr Auld Slapper, the prossie Rooney slept with kissed and told, the hotel staff at the ManU Christmas orgy reported what they saw with their own eyes, so it wasn't just rumour. The Wayne Bridge thing was always denied by both Terry and Peroncel...Like I say the FA "morals" committee decided different, that is indisputable. And for what its worth I think you are wrong, but you are of course entitled to your opinion, as am I.

The problem was the Wayne Bridge didn't help matters by turning the whole 'handshake' thing into a media circus, which probably made JT's position untenable. But he was rehabilitated/forgiven and regained the captaincy. That was my point to FC that apparently there is a period of time that constitutes penance in this matter and both paid it.
February 17, 201511 yr That dreadful Helen Wood, who is now wealthy in her own right, so no financial incentive, has been very open about her and Rooney. So as not to be unfair on the chaps: JT's wife, despite venom aimed at her at the time, has been a credit to him and her forgiveness and support should be applauded; she has played a part in his success. Colleen, on the other hand, is a poor role model to young women. She is intelligent, has her own money, but her acceptance has validated her husband's disgusting behaviour. She's not some poor young mum who has to stay, she's given a very poor message to young women. So, it seems even the WAGS are treated differently by the media depending upon which team their other half plays for. Edited February 17, 201511 yr by Droogba

February 17, 201511 yr Mate of mine used to play for a well known northern club. They went on a tour of the Far East, taking in a brothel on the itinerary. The first one to disappear into a room was the manager- Dont be shy lads, it's all on the chairman. You probably wouldn't have heard of my mate, who was a journeyman pro, but you would have heard of the manager.

February 17, 201511 yr The first time yes. Bridge was still an England teammate effectively. The second time was when he was charged after the Ferdinand incident. Wasn't Rooney given the armband about four years after those allegations were made? Bluedaze, are you taking the piss !!!! Both Rooney and Giggs definitely did it, neither denied it, and both their aggrieved parties (along with one of Rooneys whores) spoke out about it.. JT and her BOTH denied it, certain papers had to write retractions..... So... The unproven one gets the sack amongst an outcry from our 'totally unbiased against Chelsea media' and the other two get made captains of their countries.. If you don't see that as unfair and unequal treatment then you are as deluded as some of the extreme views the other way.
February 17, 201511 yr Sorry to go slightly off topic (but not really as we are discussing kiss and tells) My favourite was the Geordie lass who was being serviced by both Ruud Gullit and Gazza at the same time, while both were at Newcastle.. She rated Gazza more highly than Ruud in the bedroom...So for all his schexy football, Gullit could not compete with Gazza's good lovin... And she complained that Ruud wooed her with a cheap box of celebrations from the petrol station. A truly stand out kiss and tell with all the ingredients for a good chuckle down the pub on a Sunday afternoon.

If you don't see that as unfair and unequal treatment then you are as deluded as some of the extreme views the other way. My point was that JT lost the captaincy on the back of this (Bridge very much believed it and that led a lot of the media outcry) but actually regained it about a year later. Rooney wasn't captain when he faced his accusations armband four years after it all passed. Giggs I haven't mentioned but it had nothing to do with football (nor did Rooney's). I'm not asking for footballers to be role models and I don't care much what they get up to in private so long as it doesn't affect their football. Whatever happened with JT, it very much did affect the England team because they were effectively teammates. What you're doing is spinning these stories, removing the context and doing essentially what the lower echelons of the media do. Edited February 17, 201511 yr by Blue Daze

I liked the hair dresser who said she had it away with Ashley Cole and he stopped halfway through to go and be sick (because he was extremely drunk) but still came back and finished the job. Now that's commitment.
February 17, 201511 yr There used to be a rumour that a centre half with the initials EY was an active homosexual. Wonder whether he did it with his trademark headband on?
February 17, 201511 yr Most of the articles on Rooney's cheating mention his ‘dive’, not dive against Preston, I have to feel that he is being protected by the papers becuase of his role with England, is this not possible Blue Daze? Or is out of the realms of possibility? There is a difference in ‘dive’ and dive, Rooney ‘dived’, at least two or three of our players earlier in the season dived, according to various journalists. Some of these journalists appear to be sitting on the fence as well, instead of saying that Rooney either did or did not dive, they are saying do you think he dived? It's a nice and easy way of avoiding the decision, to say if he did dive or not, they're taking the preassure off of themselves. I'm not saying that there is a definite agenda against this club, this is about the journalists in this country refusing to be fair when it comes to judging British players, though JT is one of their prime targets in my opinion, an easy target perhaps. Regarding the Preston manager, absolute fool, as are anyone who states that good old Wayne was just jumping out of the way. I've jumped out of the way before, the other day I jumped over my dog as it went to stand up, as I was climbing over it, I landed on my feet. Next time I will try Wayne's jumping technique and slide across my kitchen floor. If I believed more in conspiracys, I'd say that the Preston manager has been paid off, becuase surely he doesn't really believe that Wayne was taking evasive action, does he?

Probably more the case of him saying that directly after a game having not seen a conclusive replay. If you asked him now he'd probably say it was a dive. If not then he is a complete idiot.
