Jose charged. Wenger not charged.

Featured Replies

That's not the point of this topic though the point is simple forget what was said in detail both Jose and Wenger commented on refs but only Jose has been charged. It's an injustice that one can talk about the referee yet be given no punishment or even an investigation where the other has been charged.

I really wish people would post about the actual point of the thread and not whether Jose should be charged.

I don't know what Wenger said, point is , José needs to shut his trap about referees , now he has to contend with the charge instead of focusing on the team

I read upthread that the comments were different from both managers and had significant differences, perhaps that's why one was charged and the other wasn't.

All fans think their club gets a raw deal, have a look at Arsenal fans after the game here.

But the post you quoted is relevant to the discussion.

Jose comes out into his post match press conference after a bad result and pisses and moans about officials not giving the smallest decisions and rather than like what Wenger did and say that it was a poor performance by the official Jose goes on about conspiracies against him and Chelsea and says officials are scared to give them penalties etc. So that means he is questioning the officials/FA's integrity which is why he gets charged.

Now I've had time to look at it, Wenger said the ref had a poor game.

José implied there was anti Chelsea bias and refs were scared to give decisions for Chelsea.

All he's got to do is prove it now, good luck with that, but as said before, something the club doesn't f**king need at this time

His comments were always going to get him charged. Doesnt matter what manager it was who said it, they'd all be charged. He said it slowly and clearly 3 times, inferring bias. Always going to get a charge..

Wenger also described the ref as "weak"

This turned out to work in Gabriels favour.

Last year Jose said the ref had a "good game" this was deemed sarcastic and Jose got charged.

Which must mean the FA thought the ref in that game was poor.

We can all draw our own conclusions, I know what mine are.

I am behind José 100%

But referee conspiracy theory is a bit jaded isn't it ?

How so when one coach is punished and another is not for the same thing.

impeccable logic !.....but I don't think it was the reason !

Exactly both have broken the rules but as usual Wenger gets away with it.

Wenger was asked at the post match interview, he merely answered the question

José was a different matter altogether

How so when one coach is punished and another is not for the same thing.

But it wasn't the same thing.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but I thought both Jose and Wenger publically criticised refs. Jose has recently been charged by the FA? Again? Wenger has not? Was not?

As I said that's not the point of this thread though, the point is why is one charged but not the other? Both broke the rules. You can't talk negatively about referees both did. If someone calls someone a twat and someone calls aomeone a f**king retarded twat both should be lambasted for it regardless of whoever said something worse than the other.

Also for the record no ones saying Jose shouldnt have been charged.

But it's how you say it. I'm all for people trying to back our coach but read what others have said - what Jose said and the way he said it was totally different and this isn't just another case of victimization by the FA (as inept as they may be usually).

The bullsh*t

So if I laugh and call you someone nobhead it's ok because of the way I said it?

What about Jose's clearly sarcastic comments last season that got him in trouble shouldn't he have been let off because of the way he said them in that case?

Also as I said no one is saying Jose shouldn't have been charged but that Wenger has yet again (the shove he got away with aswell) escaped punishment for also breaking the so called rules about referees.

The FA are showing a great deal of inconsistency, unless they come out and state they have a sliding scale, of bad ref insults, not so bad ref insults and finally ref banter.

I'm not suggesting there is a campaign, but I am stating in my opinion, that they seem to chop and change the rules according to who said what, and how the media report things.

I would like to state that I haven't gone on the FA website and checked, and they might actually have a sliding scale of ref insults, which then begs the question, who decides which remarks are deemed worthy of punishment and which are not, hopefully this does not fall within the remit of Greg Dyke, a man not known for his good judgement.

You have lost me with your analogy!

Why start looking back at last season? We're talking about NOW. Wenger (and practically ALL coaches) will criticise officials when they feel they haven't had the rub of the green and they know they can go so far. Jose has more or less accused officials of bias and then repeated that over and over and what made it more embarrassing was that Southampton had more justification to moan about decisions on the day.

As others have said, Jose's continual obsession with officials is getting very tiresome when there are clearly more important things he needs to be concentrating on. Of course I want everyone to be dealt with by the FA on equal terms, but at the end of the day I don't really give a toss about others - I'm only interested in Chelsea.

People are defending the undefenable simply cause it's Jose.

You are allowed to comment on a refs performance and say if they had a good game or a bad game. Managers do this everyweek and if Wenger was fined for his comments then you would have to fine other managers on a weekly basis.

What you can't do is imply refs have an agenda against your club.

As for Jose getting fined for his sarcastic comments, he was fined because, once again, he was implying that refs had an agenda. If he had just left his comments at "ref have a great game" then he wouldn't have been fined but he didn't.

My analogy is simply that if you say soenthing that you shouldn't be it in a different manner then you should still be punished as you are breaking the rules. Don't just punish the one who said it louder or in a different manner. The FA continue to look mugs with inconsistent decisions like this.

As I said NO ONE is saying that Jose DOESN'T deserve to be charged. They are pointing out the inconsistency of Jose been charged and WENGER not been charged.

What Jose has said is irrelevant to this topic the topic is that one breaks the rules and gets punished the other doesn't. Bringing up last season is totally justified in getting the point across that some get away with it whilst others do not.

Ditto the Costa ban. Fair enough, provided Gabriel also gets charged for throwing an arm in Arnautovic's face and Charlie Adam gets two charges for throwing two elbows at Schürrle. The list goes on and on.

Exactly it's about consistency of which the FA has none

You are allowed to comment on the referees performance aslong as it's done in a certain fashion. And it's silly to suggest that you shouldn't punish those who do that in a much louder and different manner that implies that there is an agenda against the club. If Mourinho had stopped at "I think the referee had a poor performance", it would of been fine imo. Yet he decided to continue his ranting and diatribe against the referees, who were definetly not against us in that particular game. I don't buy into this whole deflecting from the teams poor performance suggestions, and believe that someone who is so keen to talk about the players' emotional control and character, should really make sure he has that sorted first himself.
