March 10, 201610 yr Good post, for me Haz nowadays is not as good as Luiz was and is. Surely Hazard has dropped in monetary value. I see your point, but the general consensus was at the time PSG massively over paid for an erratic defender. Hazards reputation rather than his form this season will generally dictate his value, and if the buyer has a bottomless pit like PSG, gross overpay could be on the cards again. I think Madrid will almost certainly have a sniff if they realise he is available, a little bidding war could then ensue.
March 10, 201610 yr We didn't see it at the time but as soon as we changed to Yokohama our form deflated. Yeah, I always knew Michelin or Pirelli were better ;)
March 10, 201610 yr I think the one good solution is to buy us Matuidi for 50M£. Please. Yeah, right, it's like PSG are going to sell their only french player.
March 10, 201610 yr Is it only me or I get the impression that David Luiz only performs against Chelsea? I wouldn't want him back in a million years, he is a very unreliable defender, but then he performs as you never see him when they play us. Where was last night the David Luiz of the World Cup?
March 10, 201610 yr We didn't see it at the time but as soon as we changed to Yokohama our form deflated. Must sign a contract with a helium tank manufacturer next year with a slogan including the words "high" and "pitch".
March 10, 201610 yr Exactly as what I've been saying over the last 6 months. No passion, no dedication, no willingness. Whatever problems were going on were not the fault of Jose's. His frustration and lashing out and acting like a madman were purely because he was as dumbfounded as all of us are at the team. They simply don't care when they go out and step onto the pitch. Think back to the 2-0 against PSG at home 2 seasons ago, and think about now. Where has all the passion gone? I realise that being negative (honest and truthful) gets you banned on here, but where are all the people who were saying how things were going to turn for the better all that time ago? Getting rid of Jose has done nothing. Well done Roman, well done Chelsea. Hazard needs to be sold as soon as possible. Terry needs his contract extended for 1 more season. Ivanovic and Mikel can be shipped out. The latter of those as far away as possible. Oscar and Matic need to be sold. The only plus point from this season has been Traore, and Hiddink seems intent on stifling his development along with Kenedy and Loftus-Cheek. Team for the rest of the season:BegovicDave -- Terry -- Kid 1 -- RahmanFabregas -- Loftus-CheekKenedy -- Willian -- TraoreCosta They're the only players who look like they might give a shit when putting on the shirt.
March 10, 201610 yr Look we all know there's going to be a massive overhaul in the summer and about time. But we MUST keep Diego, I don't know about you guys but I want my players to show passion...but him and JT are the only players in that squad that do. I think not having Champions League next season is a good thing, it will show us fans who wants to stick it out and actually play and help the club. We need to give youngsters a chance next season, the likes of Christensen, Ake, Chalobah, RLC, Van Ginkel, Kenedy, Traore, Piazon, Bamford. Let's face it, a transitional time is coming but that also means we need passion and commitment to get that blue flag flying high again.
March 10, 201610 yr If Mourinho has anything special, it is the capacity to transform any topic into a conversation about him. We were talking about yesterday's match, don't see how we can discuss whether it was or wasn't Mourinho's fault. I get that we want answers to the frustration of this season, but yesterday's game was about the team that was on the pitch and the tactical disposition, not Mourinho. With Mourinho we would have lost, but that is fantasy football. Get back to the now and here.
March 10, 201610 yr Being negative doesnt get you banned from here, unfortunately. We are having a season where the the prospect ofno silverware is a distinct possibility,so what.Maybe next season will be better, just suck it up.
March 10, 201610 yr Ideal team next season would be: CourtoisAzpillicueta -- Zouma -- Christensen -- RahmanFabregas -- Loftus-CheekKenedy -- Willian -- GriezmannCosta Subs: Begovic, Terry, New holding mid, New winger, Traore. Drogba as an assistant coach once MLS is over. Lampard coming back as an assistant coach too. So many leaders to learn from rather than the shower of pussies that currently pull on the shirt. You have the fighter in Costa, the drive in Willian, the experience in Fabregas, the pace in Kenedy, the youth in Loftus-Cheek, the power in Zouma. We have a ready made team that can show passion. It may not always win us games or win us titles, but who cares? I don't care if we get relegated season after season so long as players actually try.

It does actually. People are allowed to be negative so long as they're already part of the established clique.

Things have got better though. Hiddink is unbeaten in the league and we are well clear of relegation, which seemed a real possibility before he arrived. The PSG game was always a hard task even with Jose in charge as we saw last year, but as for the league we have clearly improved and are now looking to qualify for Europa League. Had we averaged more than 1 point a game half way through the season we would definitely be in with a shout of top 4.
March 10, 201610 yr Yeah, right, it's like PSG are going to sell their only french player. I will swim through the English Channel with him on my back so you can have it. Rabiot is French, Aurier is French, but most of all, Verratti's son is French :ibr:

March 10, 201610 yr I speak my mind but am not continually negative, hence i have never been banned, simple.

It would have been a brilliant opportunity to shift out all those who didn't want to play for the club. Besides, we haven't won the Championship before.
March 10, 201610 yr It does actually. People are allowed to be negative so long as they're already part of the established clique. You're perfectly free to be critical, you're just not allowed to be a dick. Also a Fabregas - Loftus-Cheek midfield would get murdered.
March 10, 201610 yr I speak my mind but am not continually negative, hence i have never been banned, simple. Visited earlier. Saw a column of the usual suspect digging up the threads to 'Roman' this, 'Jose' that, using last night's loss to spread doom and gloom. The award for best Chelsea fan goes to ... Anyway, I checked in and checked out. Back for some lunchtime light relief.

March 10, 201610 yr I am surprised to see so many people lose their sh*t over this defeat. Hell even the "the club is in disarray" thread is back in full swing! At the end of the day it was always going to be very difficult last night. In fact, PSG over two legs was always going to be very difficult. I actually thought we gave it a good go; there were periods of the game we actually bossed and we did actually look like scoring. At 1-1 we came very close and who knows what could have happened from there. Although the scoreline at 4-2 might suggest otherwise, it was actually quite fine margins that saw us go out and over the 2 legs I don't thing we were outplayed nearly as badly as last year (and that was playing the home leg with a man advantage). I don't think defeat tells us anything we didn't know before. We are not one of the best teams in Europe at the moment and on paper at least, PSG are far superior. We do not have a divine right to get past a team like PSG who have the likes of Cavanni & Pastore on the bench and in the end we just didn't have enough.

I agree with you in general, except when you say that PSG are far superior on paper, which I don't agree with. Otherwise yes, they got through on small details, and yesterday they were saved by their goalie Trapp, who did some decent saves when we needed to score (first half and second half before Costa went).

I bumped that thread because I think it's not enough to say 'we aren't good enough' but to ask why we aren't, how we got to that point and how we move forward. It didn't just happen organically or by accident, it's because there's been confusion at the top of the club over what we actually want to be on the pitch and it comes from the very top. There were points yesterday where we applied pressure to them and were on top, but they were also very comfortable for large pieces of the game passing it around our players with ease and even breaking out the 'oles' at the end. This was a team where every player knew their job and that was without arguably the best player - Verratti.
March 10, 201610 yr Congratulations to the decent psg fans who have visited here. Now we know no cl for us next season. Probably no europa league either. Be a strange season. Gutting. So if we buy right we should piss the premier league, right?
