Juve want Douglas Costa so they can't sign Danilo because of 2 non EU player rule.

So it leaves the path open for us to get Danilo who also happens to be best friends with Sandro

Danilo is a massive upgrade on Moses.

He hasn't been great for Real but he's also not played many games. He'd be brilliant for us, especially if we get Sandro on the other side as well.

It's their player, their contract it's up to them. It's a business and they are getting higher fees doing their deals like that so I don't see the issue at all. If we want a player we pay what they ask simple as because a club like United or someone else will pay it in the end.

 

I think the problem from our sides is we are trying to stick to our guns but still we have been close enough of both deals like I said for a couple of million it would be better to have a positive relationship with a big club like Chelsea who have so many players going through our club on loan and for sale. If you're on the side of the road out of petrol middle of nowhere and I pull up and have a can I'd be well within my rights to charge you 100 quid but I'd still be a w**ker, we aren't asking for charity we are willing to pay more than the player is worth, even take a 40 or 50 million hit on a player we sold them 2 years ago after loaning them him, you would expect some accommodation under those circumstances while being taken for double the players worth, the point is yes get top price but it's the way the deal they are chancers milking it and like I said it will harm them in the future.

Very silly nonsense from CFC tbh. We've known for 7 months that Costa was leaving and we've known we'd go after Lukaku but somehow didn't make a bid until today. 

But some fans still buy the "best executives in football", "Lukaku wasn't the first choice" nonsense being spouted by Jake Cohen and Dan Levene.

I know it's bullsh*t newspapers but fingers crossed the talks will go well with Conte.

Diego Costa staying would be the best news we could have all summer. Costa is much better than all of the strikers we are being linked with.

Even if he stays, would he be a happy Diego or a disgruntled, bide my time until I can truly leave Diego?  I feel like the damage is done with the whole text fiasco. 

How are some of you happy with a hypothetical situation of Costa staying? You want an "I don't care about anything here, I'm just waiting till January to join Atletico" Costa? He's gone. Accept it and move on.

Ideally Diego will stay and we sign Morata, an outcome I was originally hoping for.

I'm resigned to losing Diego to Atletico but would hope Diego will give us some degree of certainty (at least until January) while Morata adapts to the PL. Add Llorente and Batshuayi into the mix and for me we'd have a plan A, B, C and D.

When he's on form, he's easily one of the world's best strikers. Even money can't buy us a Lewandowski or whoever else are on similar level as Costa.

Instead of selling Costa and buying a new striker which will significantly weaken the team, we should keep him and sign a very good back up like Morata or anyone Conte would be happy with, that way we can drop Costa when he's off form. Last season we were stuck with an off form Costa because Conte refused to play Batshuayi for some reason.

Diego Costa is not signing a new Contract and Chelsea won't give him one either, not while Conte is manager. The earlier you move on from Costa, the better. Stop letting the bloody Mirror and Sun give you a false sense of hope. He's gone. He'll be playing for Atletico next season. That's that.

Yeah I'd rather a player who's on form for 80% of the season even if he scores less. At least he won't be f**king up our attacks time and time again. He also won't be embroiled in f**king needless controversy that can ruin team chemistry. Crazy idea but it seems there are such strikers on the market. Maybe I'm just crazy though and chaos is a normal thing for strikers. :)
