Learn to read between the lines please. That was an attempt at mind games and a PR stunt from Conte to save the club some face.

Conte wanted Koulibaly but because the negotiating team was playing hardball that We had to bid for Luiz at deadline day. Luiz was a panic last minute buy, if it was up to Conte, he'd have coughed up  60m Euros no problem.

He criticises people for believing media sources and not believing him. I'd be okay if he was offering an opinion, his opinion is a valid one (though I think it is wrong ), but he's acting like he should be trusted more than the BBC, sky sports or the guardian - who are typically on the money with rumours.

It's actually very laughable considering you can put together a worse compilation of Costa's own mistakes and he wouldn't look as good as a pub player.

Has anyone looked at Conte's signings at Juventus? I'm pretty sure they all were brought for a good price. Imo 75m for Lukaku isn't a good price, at all.

well it wasn't long ago people say how efficient chelsea are in the market, both our fans and rival fans. something doesn't add up as to why we weren't in for him IF he was our no.1 target. too many contradicting rumours for me to believe anything 100%

no, i'm referring more to the people who post on twitter and reddit who claim they didn't want him, then get angry when he goes to utd. the board can't win - damned if they do, damned if they don't. 

Well I e said for a while marina playing the Iron Lady and trying to show the boys how big her bollox are is bad in a world of men and egos, I think people take objection to her coming in taking a tough no nonsense stance as she is described as having and I get comments like "well negotiating isn't that easy, why don't you do it for us, she is an expert" or "don't think we know enough about her to make assumptions" well here are facts not assumptions, the only good window we had since she started in the sense of getting our targets. Not buying our recommendations that turned out good because of our scouts, I mean manager targets to improve the first team, was Costa and cesc and Jose got that done, the rest particularly last two have been terrible, yes conte got luiz and alonso playing well but that's his managerial talents not her negotiating tallent so she missed the targets like the season before, and it's happening again, another fact city or Utd wouldn't have that many failures, that many bad windows midding targets, she may be an "expert negotiator" but she is clearly not as good as her counter parts, it's a crucial role and she isn't delivering. Money is there we are bidding on expensive players, too much pissing around, we want a player go in pay the fee or don't bother.

not really. our rivals have been flirting with targets from the start of the window (and way before) but have yet to sign them. city have signed 2 targets, but they weren't difficult to acquire and arsenal have signed a striker who they've been targeting for god knows how long and only came to an agreement recently.

Lukaku was there for the taking. We were the only ones really in for him for the longest time. Why didn't we wrap it up if that's the case then? City badly needed a new GK and they got him. They needed a new attacker and they got him. Arsenal badly needed a new CF and they got him. Doesn't matter what's happened with their Lacazette scouting in the past, the fact is, they got him right now. You can't use those as excuses.
