In this market he must be worth at least double. The transfer fees just keep going up, surely something will have to give. Not only does it blow my mind Liverpool paid that much for Benteke let alone getting their money back from Palace!

I see he is very popular with Barca fans, I hope Barca don't try and take him from us.

Well we'll get a good idea this season when he's coming up against Barca and City in the Champions League.

Started off well. I made the mistake of saying so elsewhere on the forum and seconds later he lost Aguero for the first goal...on this evidence, reckon another year on loan learning some more and playing regularly was the right decision...still a bit raw

Strange. That sounds like we have defenders who don't lose their attackers every game at least once. When saying whether he should come back to Chelsea or not it should be liked at comparatively to what we already have. Comparatively he is better then they are.

I hear Barca are looking at the Christensen situation and might make a cheeky £20M bid for him.

 

They can f**k right off with that. Still, at least Barca being linked with him might make our hierarchy realize we do have a real talent on our hands so hopefully we won't f**k this up in any way.

Still hoping he returns at the end of the season so Conte can work with him and he is one of our CB options going forward. Didn't catch any of the game last night but see BM were comprehensively beaten 4-0 by Barca and Christensen played. Anyone caught much of him lately?

 

 

According to news sources, he wants to make is move to borussia a permanent one.  Apparently the club are willing to make that happen if we get Bonucci . . Dafuq?

I won't be gutted if we sell to Gladbach tbh, never that impressed when I've seen him this year (same with Ake at CB). He's up there with John Stones for me, over hyped.

Harsh on Ake. He had a bad game against Liverpool at CB in terms of defensive performance. Today's game, scored but generally I would not he was specifically at fault for the goals. Arsenal and Stoke he was fantastic. Christensen would look better in a better team. For instance Barca he would shine and even under Conte, he would be a much better defender.

Maybe overly harsh on Ake, I thought his positioning could have been better for Southampton's 2nd. Don't get me wrong I think he'd be a good backup for Cahill in Conte's 3-4-3 but I just don't see him as a first team regular here. Christensen I think would be decent for Barcelona but I have my doubts if he'd make it in the Premier League, I'd be happy if we sold to Gladbach with a sell on clause or £30m+ to Barca, with van Dijk coming in hopefully.

it would be stupid not to extend ake's loan next season if bournemouth wants him, he's still a work in progress and a regular starter there, there's no point in hampering his development by making him a second string backup on our bench

You're talking as if Ake and Christensen are seasoned pro's, i mean they are both still under 22. They have bags of potential and I can easily see them being some of the PL's best defenders in the coming years
