Includes Tommy Langley. Also in the picture is Alan Curbishley. I don't recognise any of the other names.

No nor do I.

Just shows how few actually progress to full senior level

By that, I mean club level, not full international level.

I'm guessing that P McStay who went to Holycross High is the Paul McStay who played for Celtic. I know that he stayed in Larkhall just up the way from Hamilton.

Derby v Leeds 'having a disagreement'.

This is the famous Franny Lee v Norman Hunter 'boxing match' game !

Speaking of Norman Hunter, he was just diagnosed with coronavirus.

Speedy recovery to him.

And I'm guessing the  captain D McClure is the Doug McClure who played Trampas in The Virginian.

The Virginian takes me back. Remember watching that as a kid.

Can't remember seeing it on any of the rerun channels, so it must have been pretty dismal. Another one of the same  era that never gets rerun is Daktari.

Haven't seen it on rerun channels either. I watched Daktari as a kid. With Clarence the cross-eyed lion. For the last two or three weeks The Time Tunnel has been shown on the Horror Channel. Has aged reasonably well.

Remember watching it on TV, think Paul Rideout scored a hatrick

Paul Nicholas – He had signed ‘S’ forms for Celtic, joining his older cousin Charlie, who had just started to break through into the first team. Paul wasn’t as fortunate and was released. Scotland youth coach Andy Roxburgh recommended him for a soccer scholarship at Harvard University in Boston.

After leaving university he then went on to work for a major merchant bank in New York

Didn't do too badly did he !

Football on the front of NME !

I used to flick between reading NME, Sounds and Melody Maker. Three fine music papers. I don't think any of them is printed nowadays. Found this. Pat's interview with NME. I think that it's been posted before. I love the comment in the second picture where Charlie Nicholas is described as hapless.
