Where are they now...

A random selection of some of the players to have left in recent seasons. Mostly lesser known or youth players.

Perhaps it is a sign of the way our youth setup used to be, where apart from JT we have only produced one player from our youth who is currently playing in a top league - and that is Carlton Cole who can't get a run with soon to be relegated West Ham. Perhaps Joe Keenen in Holland and Filipe Oleveria in Portugal come close.

Marco Ambrisio - playing Serie C1b for Salernitana

Alexis Nicolas - playing conference for St Albans City, currently second from bottom (remember him playing a full 90 minutes in the first team against Portsmouth in Ranieri's last season)

Sebastian Knessiel - playing in the second division in Germany for SV Wacker Burghausen. Currently second bottom.

Joe Keenen - Playing for William II in the Dutch league

Filipe Oliveria - playing for Portuguese club Maritimo

Jurgen Macho - Playing for FC Kaiserlautern in the second division in Germany.

Jespar Gronkjaer - playing for FC Kobenhavn in Denmark

Carlton Cole - on the bench for West Ham about to be relegated

Yves Makaba-Makalamby - on loan at Watford

Filipe Morais - playing for St Johnson in the Scottish first division

Steven Watt - Playing for Swansea City in division 1.

Joe Tillen - playing for Thurrock in Conference (South)

Valerio De Cesare - unattached

Enrique De Lucas - still at Alaves in the Spanish second division

Jody Morris - Milwall

Fortunately our current crop of youngsters looks much more promising.

Apparently Arsenal are currently scouting Macho with a view to bringing him on as a back up keeper. It is said he has been in good form. In fairness to him we nwver really knew if he was good enough to be a back up for us as injury wrecked his season.

On the point of our youth set up it is no secret that it is something we have neglected for years and years and therefore it is no surprise that very little quality has ever come out of it.

Who can predict future of following players(out brightest youth):

Lassana Diarra -

Ben Sahar - 2 inter. goals in 2 int. appearances, being 17 years old.

Scott Sinclair -

Miroslav Stoch -

Bruno Morais -

Whom do I miss?? (of really great)

How many ex-Chelsea players down the years have really left us for bigger and better things? For all those players listed above (great list, by the way) it's been downhill since they moved on.

Of course it's been downhill. They were with the best. From that point on there's only one way and it's down icon_wink.gif

I suppose you could argue the case for Le Saux on a temporary basis - left us and went on to win the title at Blackburn, something he would never have done had he stayed with us.

The lad returned of course, knows whats best!!

thought he was still at Brum City, just about to make a return after a lenghty time out through injury.

Yes he is - to both.

Mikael "wooden knee" Forssel.

Taken from Wikipedia:

"Mikael suffered another cruel injury blow during training in October 2006, leaving him on the sidelines until at least January 2007.

He returned to training in February 2007 after undergoing operations on both knees."

Don't forget Robert Huth.

A shame that he left, he always played decent. he would have done good this season with out JT and Boula

I agree. I really liked him so I was sad to see him go even though a part of me was happy for him since he didn't get to play much at Chelsea.

Hearing the entire Stamford Bridge chant "Huth! Huth! Huth!" sounded pretty cool icon_cool.gif

is steven watt not on loan to swansea? i thought he looked an excellent player in the ressies.

Yeah Watt's at Swansea but not on loan. He signed on a free.

Last I heard he was struggling to get a start and had a spat with Kenny Jacket. Now Jacket has gone maybe he isgetting a look in.

I watched Leon Knight on Monday night play for MK Dons reserves against Norwich. He was skipper and although he didn't look totally fit, was the best player on the pitch and won a penalty in a 2-1 win for MK Dons.

But there is a player who blew a great chance and he must think "If Only".
