Well at least that is a moderation on this..........."with this mentality there's absolutely no chance you'd be able to run a successful business, for one" I think some of those criticising you would surprise you greatly with what they can and have done. To me your approach to being a fan seems arid and narrow. These players and people you dismiss with a wave of your keyboard are people who are real and part of a living breathing thing called Chelsea football club. It has a heart and a soul and a long history in which this era is the most spectacular and extraordinary. Try knowing the value of what you have rather than just the cost or the ratings.

My problem with you and everyone who has brought this thread back up is....when the board gets glowing reviews from fans for the good things they've done and good signings made (Hazard, Azpi, Courtois, Ivanovic, etc...steals that proved to be absolute monumental players for us, plus timely decisions like hiring/firing Rafa, Jose, etc even though they may have been controversial at the time) with this same "wave of keyboard" there's not a single peep from you lot. As soon as any criticism is detected, there's an uproar. Are we living in North Korea? Is it wrong to criticise the board?

If I had to bet, you're probably one of those who moan every time fans criticise Cahill's performances (had a great game against Atletico btw, refreshing to see for once). Not even Terry had that level of invincibility. When Terry put in lackluster performances towards the end of his time here, we pointed it out. Somehow Cahill has this shield not even Terry, Lampard, Cole or Drogba had towards the end of their careers here despite all they won for us. It's sickening.

Tell me, what time exactly is the right time to criticise anything Chelsea related if at all you think criticism is a thing that should exist within the fanbase. And I'm throwing this question to @coco, @yorkleyblue and anyone else in here who has a different opinion. I'm genuinely curious.

No one has ever said Cahill or anyone is above criticism, you've just made that up. What some people are against is the over the top abuse he gets, often completely without substance and often it's totally undeserved and not even based on his display in a game. Constructive criticism is fine, calling him a donkey, spastic, c**t etc isn't.

The sentence in bold stating that the board have made some monumental purchases, contradicts your title of this thread. Sorry I am one of the many who do not agree with you regarding the board.

Personally, I don't think it's wrong to criticize anyone but abuse is different.

That being said, we have a very good board, not THE BEST but not everyone is perfect. Our signings thus far is positive and all at a good age but the board have missed opportunities to sign World Class players. It's not totally the board's fault since circumstances can always change even at the last minute. We're only missing quality depth at 2nd LB, 5th CM and 3rd Striker which when our first 11 is on form would've been benched anyway. Tbf to the board, we have done ok and it's not like they're running the club like Arsenal's board, Mike Ashley, Sullivan and Gold and etc to call them incompetent. They've made mistakes like any human being does and they've received plenty of criticism by now for sure and I doubt Roman has been twiddling his fingers throughout all of this. Do we really need to constantly slag them off throughoit the season? They'll be judged on a season by season basis anyway.

My grief with Emenalo is youth progression into the first team squad but so far everything is ok, can't help it if Ake and Nate wants more playing time than spending time on the bench, they have their own careers to think about after all.

Our transfer outgoings however have been superb.

Where was all this defending when fans were having a go at players like Mikel and Kalou for years and years? I wonder why it was almost non existent.

That's fine. That's your opinion. I call it as I see it.

@Barrettinator Two years ago was a great season for people like yourself, you could viably criticise everything about the club/players/manager that season.

It's all about timing.

Right, because it must have been an absolute delight to watch Chelsea have an absolute disaster of a season. People like me just looovveeee when Chelsea lose and are in crisis, ehy?

I'd be on the streets protesting with banners if we were being run like Arsenal, Newcastle and co.

Notice how I've not slagged off Roman one bit? Not once. Apart from all he has done for us (which should go without saying), he isn't the one making the decisions on what players to buy, when to buy, negotiations, etc. He just writes the cheques.

I pointed out yesterday how Zappacosta was an underwhelming signing and we should have gotten a RWB capable of benching Moses but others in this thread said I was moaning. You only have to look at Conte's decision to play Azpi at RWB today rather than Zappacosta. It certainly wasn't because Moses couldn't defend because he's very capable defensively, a lot more than Alonso. Shut out Carrasco on Wednesday. But Conte didn't trust Zappa to play there in a big game like this. So did we actually improve in that position even though it was clear at the end of last season that we needed clear upgrades in both wingback positions? No.

I actually don't mind Drinkwater tbh. I think he can do a decent job for us. Prefer his signing to a Ross Barkley. Plus we don't need to sign a 5th CM. That's what youth players are for. We also have Luiz who can step into midfield for us if needed. We're covered there imo.

I don't blame Emenalo for youth progression either. That's the manager's decision. Emenalo has done all he can. He brings in talented youth players. It's up to the manager whether those players play or not and we've criticised decisions to force players on our managers in the past so it would be silly to do it now.

I have absolutely no problems with our transfer outgoings. I've always maintained that that's where Marina really really shines. She can sell a brick off Cobham for half a million pounds tbf. Her buying tactics however don't seem to be nearly as effective. But that's another discussion.

Do you have a problem with comprehension? How's that contradicting myself? Did you bother to even read that paragraph much less the entire post? Christ.

Listen here mate, praising the board in one post and then saying they're incompetent in the next is contradiction. Hope you kept your receipt for your education, you're going to need it. You actually are intellectually challenged. Mate do me favour and don't respond like you claimed you were not going to.

Well, if you're going to keep replying with stupid posts, I have no choice but to respond. Unlike you, I can't see something that's ridiculous and not point it out.

First of all, Marina had nothing to do with acquiring Ivanovic. Players like Courtois, Azpi, Moses etc were Emenalo signings in 2011 and 2012 (along with Mata, De Bruyne, Lukaku) and he deserves massive credit for those. That's his job and he does it brilliantly. I hardly ever criticise Emenalo. But he's part of "the board" and so "the board" deserve credit. But when there are problems with negotiations and all of that, "the board" also deserve criticism. That isn't Emenalo's job, that's Marina's. The Chelsea board isn't one monolith. There are different people with different roles. You know, like almost any other football club (in case you're clueless about that).

Since you don't understand the point of that post, I'll help you. It's possible to actually give the board credit when things go right while pointing out when they've f**ked things up. If you still don't get this at all then I'm afraid you're the one who's intellectually challenged.

Never a huge fan of Kalou or Mikel, but Mikel did get a lot of defence on here.

In any case, a lot of his criticism was bought about by some of the Nigerian / African support behind him always bleeting on about how he was some sort of superstar who was hard done by.

He was an average player, who did a decent/acceptable job in the end and was part of a successful era.

Cahill has been and is regularly criticised. Has been this way for a long time. Just seems to have got to a ridiculous point recently where everything seems to be his fault now.

As I have said before stop f*cking complaining about everything under the sun and have a day off. I am not interested in your drivel, And as for stupid posts boy, you are top of that pile. You are boring and will complain if the f*cking sun shines.

Question: how do you know that it's Marina's job to negotiate, not someone else?

I'm always bamboozled by people talking about what happens inside the club when everything seems very opaque to me

For someone so boring, you seem to have taken quite a lot of interests in my posts. Not sure if I should be flattered or worried.

My intentions are not to take interest, however you talk such tripe it's hard not to notice them. They stand out from the rest.

Right. And you're incredibly smart and the custodian of all things Chelsea. Can you do one now?

Mate you are the billy big bollocks who thinks they know the ins and outs of a ducks arse regarding Chelsea, but actually knows sweet FA. I have already told you to f*ck off and you have said you don't want to respond, so why you are still here is a mystery.

Because you're making a fool of yourself now and I can't help but laugh :laugh2: I tried to show you some respect and be civil with the debate but you've truly proven yourself to be an idiot. ::clap2::

Don't worry, I'm putting you on my ignore list after this post so you can reply with some more foolishness but luckily, I won't lose any more brain cells reading them. Enjoy your day!

Please put me on ignore. As for being foolish, on the other thread didn't you say Alonso's lack of pace made Delph look world class. Well they were on opposite sides of the pitch .

You've just learned how to piss straight and now think you've arrived and know everything.
