Next Chelsea Manager

Who would be your choice as Chelsea manager going into next season? 213 members have voted

  1. 1. Here are the current favorites with Conte included. Jody Morris is in there as he is the current youth team manager, and promoting from within seems to have worked for Barca, so why not us?!

When Kante came we signed Conte.

We're signing Seri which subliminally confirms that Sarri will be our next manager.

Sarri confirmed.

I also feel like Seri would be great in the Jorginho role, so it's a good fit.

Although I hope Conte leaving doesn't imply that Kante is also on his way out.

Was Blanc manager when we got knocked out by PSG? Seem to remember them playing well and us never really controlling the game at all.

Yes.

He was PSG manager in the 3 consecutive seasons we got drawn against them in the knock out stages ... lost QF on away goals in 2013/14 season (3-1, 0-2) , and then went though in the next two ... 2014/15 R16 on away goals (1-1, 2-2)  ; 2015/16 R16 4-2 on aggregate (2-1, 2-1). So Won 3 Drawn 2 Lost 1 in the 6 games he managed PSG against us.

Oh damn i didn't think about that... :omg:

Why are people not happy about Blanc, just curious... he's won the league at least 4 times, won manager of the year awards. Yes PSG were 3 of those, but still... knows how to get over the line.

Sarri plays nice football (apparently), yet has won as many league titles as Stevie G.

For me it's not just his playing style it's how players have improve so much under his system (insigne, mertens, Koulibaly, Jorginho, higuain to an extent etc) were all extremely average or under performing players that he has turned into some I the worlds most sort after, and I'm hoping he can get the same sort of reaction out of the players in our squad. If he can turn Mertens from plain average to one of the leading scorers in the league I can only imagine what he can do with Hazard.

I also think that the brand of football would suit the players in our academy a lot more than Conte's and Mourinho's, they are used to playing a much more expansive game at youth level then come up to the first team squad and have to learn a completely new style.

If Jorginho was extremely average why were we reportedly scouting him before he joined Napoli? I think Sarri is a bit overrated tbh, I think people underestimate Napoli's scouting network is one of the best in Europe.

I don't remember seeing any major headlines that we were scouting him in 2013?

So we sent scouts to watch him and deemed him not good enough. Then Sarri turned him into one of the most sought after CM's in football.

Do you know that for sure? If we signed him we may have just sent him out on loan? At Napoli he could play. Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to downplay the work Sarri did at Napoli, just trying to make the point that he had talent to work with.

No proof we or any other big team made a bid for him that would assume he was deemed sub standard at the time.

I agree he had talent to work with but no where near to the level he got them playing at. Mertens goal return quadrupled. His team kept scoring after losing record breaker Higuian. The team halved the amount of goals they were conceding etc. All whilst not spending large sums or moaning about transfers.

Il Mattino: Sarri and his entourage are willing to consider two options: resign or tender a complaint to UEFA about the conduct of Napoli. #Sarri #Chelsea

Jorginho thrives off the raucous atmosphere in Verona’s 39,000 capacity Bentegodi Stadium. Both himself and fellow Brazilian midfielder Romulo are on the same wavelength in every match, supplying killer passes and orchestrating attacks which have led to 22 goals being scored in 12 games so far this season

If so, he’s only on £2m a year then I’m sure the club would pay that. However the issue must be more complicated than that otherwise it would be done I’m sure.

Jorginho was at Napoli when Mertens was hitting 10 goals a year. He didn't score 35 goals until Sarri came.

Whether Mertens or Higuain was up front, who was supplying killer passes and orchestrating attacks is the point I'm trying to make. As I said I'm not trying to downplay Sarri, he just isn't the only reason why Napoli have played some of the best football in Europe this season like some on here seem to be suggesting.

I don't think I have seen anyone suggest that napoli's success is solely down to Sarri, I actually think Laurentis should be given the credit for there 'success'. But there are a lot of players whos careers have skyrocketed upwards under Sarri's tenur in charge and I think a lot of that is due to the system played and his coaching.

Having said that I wouldn't be at all surprised if Napoli actually win something under Carlo as he is a winner which is something I'm not sure Sarri will have new able to do.

Chelsea have made contact for Higuain.

A Sarri target so I assume the club are stepping up to tie him down as the next manager.

Maurizio Sarri still in pole to take the job at Chelsea FC. It's the priority of Roman and Chelsea board. Same position from the Italian side. All parties want it. Now, they need agreement with Napoli and Conte. Laurent Blanc, the last option. #CFC
