Next Chelsea Manager

Who would be your choice as Chelsea manager going into next season? 213 members have voted

  1. 1. Here are the current favorites with Conte included. Jody Morris is in there as he is the current youth team manager, and promoting from within seems to have worked for Barca, so why not us?!

God knows whats going on ! If Blanc has agreed terms but not signed a deal, then i can only assume the club are setting up this deal as a plan B to fall back on if we can't get Sarri.

But then again, surely if they wanted Sarri, they wouldn't piss about trying to get him, and would just pay up.

Maybe Sarri and the club have already done a deal and have agreed to sit tight and keep mum, until either Conte or Napoli blink first, and if nobody blinks we will pay out for Conte to leave and Sarri to come in. The thing that makes me think this could be the case is that we have not heard anything from Conte, maybe he has gone on his hols and is leaving the club to decide, but when he comes back and finds out the club may decide to make him see out his contract, then Conte may have to give up his little bonus to move on to pastures green.

Apparently Blanc is sorting out his backroom staff first.

Let's hope the Conte to Real rumour is true ( expectation is pretty low after a long season), he resigns and we get to use his 12 months salary on the new manager. The people running the club business are playing a risky waiting game, let's hope other clubs make the move first.

That does not stop him from signing a deal or the club from announcing it..

They might want to make a group announcement. Have the team together in a nice group photo like they did with AVB.

Yeah...I can't really see what Blanc has done "wrong"

He's been out for 2 years because PSG stuck him on 11m a year contract. He didn't need a new job. If the offer is Sarri or Blanc, I'd go with Sarri. But when you consider everyone else that's available...I'd go with Blanc.

He hasn't done much wrong, just the usual suspects need to have their annual moan for the sake of it .

Makes sense that. If you can be on a 2 year holiday and paid 11mill a year to do so why come back early? Managers can go in to their 60s and 70s so he is not short of time.

I fail to see how he will improve us or please Eden to sign a new deal but will see.

Now just need real to pick conte as the new boss lol

It's not so much that Blanc is a terrible option, it's just another frustration that the club clearly want Sarri but faff around and won't pay the relatively small fee to get him so go for a cheaper backup option, as we've seen with player transfers in the last few years. At least any hope that this transfer window was going to be different has been killed off early, so we don't have to get frustrated as it goes on.

I don't know if this has been rumoured but in theory it could be a good idea. If blanc signed a one year contract (keeps him relevant) and we move towards a more expansive type of football which keeps the players happy then when his contract expires sarri is no longer attached to Napoli. Similar to what City did with pep and pellegrini.

Saari has two years left on his contract. Blanc will likely not last more than 6 months in the job.

Blanc has received offers from China. Chelsea waiting for more time before making a  decision. Marina returns to London (from her holiday?) this week.

Why are no other decent teams interested in Blanc?

He's been waiting for the right offer i would of thought, he's already been paid enough money, but one thing he's short of is major silverware, )French trophies are ok but not enough for him to be regarded as a top manager), that would mean realistically only 10 clubs he would consider going to, BM,RM,AM,Barca,City,Manu,Liv,Ars,Tot,Chels.

The only job to become available since he left PSG is Arsenal, Chelsea, and now RM.

The outrage over Blanc in here is pathetic. He is a good manager who will come back hungry after a 2 year paid sabbath. Give the man a chance before you throw him to the wolves.

Was Blanc manager when we got knocked out by PSG? Seem to remember them playing well and us never really controlling the game at all.

Honestly I think it depends on how much we want to revitalise the squad. As we saw with AVB, there is zero point asking a manager to play attacking, passing high pressing football without the squad to do it.

My fear with a Sarri or Enrique is that we would try and retrofit their style onto our current squad which would be a disaster.

With the style of player we have, my preference would be for someone who has a winning history is defensively solid, flexible tactically and a promoter of youth.

I've said from the start that Simeone is the only manager I would exchange Conte for. Allegri is another one who is close to what I would be looking for. Neither of course look to be leaving their current clubs.

Of those not mentioned so far Conceicao from Porto or Sampaoli are the ones that interest me. That said this summer may come too soon for them.

Blanc could be a good option although the more I've read the more he seems to struggle to change games if his first tactic isn't working.

Sarri remains a high risk appointment for me. His play seems to centre on constant movement off the ball, quick passing in tight areas. That is very hard to do in the Premier League intensity and pressure. You'd have to be defensively very solid because you'd inevitably turn the ball over more and see more counter attacks. I can't see us buying a top class deep-lying playmaker who is defensively solid which is what we would need to implement Sarriball.

Not the squad to play Sarriball?

Overnight, Wenger, changed the style of play at Arsenal. Its not like we have a squad of donkeys who can't trap a medicine ball. Bakayoko lacks the technical ability and speed of thought to play that way, but most of the others could adapt with sufficent time on the training ground.

We are gonna be just fine regardless of which managers comes, we change 'em every year anyway so no worries about manager it's much more important to spend £150m on a striker + Seri so that Hazard stays in the team, and if Courtois wants to leave then spend some more for Allison or Oblak. ::ChELSeAFaN::

Am pretty sure he was the basically outplayed us twice with good passing football. Granted at this point I don't really care much who comes or goes as if I do it takes my energy away from more important things in my life.
