Next Chelsea Manager

Who would be your choice as Chelsea manager going into next season? 213 members have voted

  1. 1. Here are the current favorites with Conte included. Jody Morris is in there as he is the current youth team manager, and promoting from within seems to have worked for Barca, so why not us?!

People are saying I'm overreacting at this, but I don't think I am.

Our rivals are wrapping up deals, we haven't even sorted our manager fiasco out.

We'll leave it until August when we make some last minute deals again and sign some more players that'll need a full season to settle.

Yea other teams have a clear advantage now and it will be felt very hard if things don't change, we don't even know who will be our manager next season but others have a clear gameplan in their clubs and are signing players.

One thing you should ask yourself, if he's such a fine catch. Why has he been unemployed two years? Football moves on quickly, even in such a short time.

I am assuming because PSG do the same as we do when "sacking" managers, and as Napoli threaten they will do having "sacked" Sarri in that they are more technically placed on gardening leave with full salary for the remainder of their contract until the point that the contract expires or until the manager in question  chooses to go elsewhere.

Blanc signed a 2 year extension (worth €11m per year) with PSG in Feb 2016 and was sacked 3 months later. That contract extension perhaps not coincidentally would be just a couple of weeks from it's expiry date.

So perhaps he is either a) selective of jobs he takes b) didn't get any offers where he'd earn the same and didn't fancy taking a paycut, or a combination of the two.

Just over a week until the world cup starts now.

Still nothing is clear at any level at the club it seems. United have just signed two players, Liverpool have strengthened greatly and City are about to do the same. Are we planning on competing with those teams? Because right now i just have a sense the whole club has given up.

We don't even have a pre-season planned. One game against Perth in Australia and that's it.

Liverpool have signed one player in Fabinho and loss Can, and i suppose you count Keita who was signed last summer, yes it probably improves their squad although we have seen through Bakayoko that the step up from looking good at Monaco to the bpl is a big one. I don' think it would be too difficult to similarly improve our squad.

City have been linked with Mahrez who would be there 4th choice wide player yeah the depth is crazy but he proabably doesn't even make their bench and Jorginho who I think will add a lot more balance to their squad as it will reduce the dependance on fernandinho but again he isn't improving their first 11. City have incomparable squad depth to any other team in the league, it would have been very difficult to improve our squad to the extent it matches theirs however 3 good signings (or 2 but somehow Morata gains some confidence aand turns into a 20+ goal striker) and our first team could compete, City have had the same problem asus in recent years in that they switch off the season after winning the title here's hoping it happens again.

United have replaced Fellani with Fred (Mou would probably prefered the former) and Darmien with Dalot, I don't follow either the Ukrainian or Portugese leagues but neither seem inspiring to me.

Bar Jorginho I don't think we would be looking at any of those players to improve our squad so we aren't being left behind, if our targets start being poached because we are faffing about choosing a manager then I would worry about what other teams are doing atm though it seems cityare alos having the same issues with us in dealing with Laurentis.

So more and more people will see the truth and who`s destroying Chelsea inside.

Now when Conte is gone, who will you blame?

Once again we are doing sh*** at transfer window. When Marina step into our board and get more power, we are doing more and more s*** season after season.
This is not a some buisness company, this is football, it`s a different thing !!!

Other clubs start doing transfer, yet we don`t know who will be our manager, neither sporting director. Forget about a selection ....

I was hoping for Real to get Pochetino, so that was our way in top 4 ....

Mattia Grassani, #Napoli's lawyer: “The release clause has expired and unless there is a new negotiation, Sarri is still under contract with Napoli. If a club wants to sign him immediately, the €8m is no longer a reference, a contract would have to be drawn up from scratch” #CFC

Mattia Grassani, #Napoli's lawyer: “On June 30 Sarri’s registration [as Coach] expires and from July 1 [when Carlo Ancelotti takes over] he'll have been formally removed but he can't break free [from his contract] except with the permission of the club.” #CFC

Mattia Grassani, #Napoli's lawyer: “In practice the release clause is no longer valid, and any interested club should speak with De Laurentiis to free Sarri from his current contract."

Chelsea are edging closer to appointing Laurent Blanc, according to L’Equipe...

Doesnt surprise me as I’m sure the club want it sorted. I just don’t see the point in hiring someone who is second choice and clearly a cheap convienent choice.

Laurent f**king Blanc. Jesus christ. From Conte to Blanc ::clap2::

With Sarri here we would have our own project and build for the future with a new philosophy.

Getting so turned off by Blanc :sadwalk:

What's wrong with Blanc? Hasn't failed in a single job as far as I can see.

Sure. I bet every big club would love to have him. Beeing unemployed for two years tells you a different story though.

I mean.. sure he would do a ”decent” job here finishing 5th och 6th. But what else could he offer us? To rebuild our team and implement a new philisophy in the club?

It is one thing to coach PSG with a Ibrahimovic at his peak and steamroll the ligue 1 than try to fight Man C, United, pool, spurs etc. with our squad. Especially when we wont spend as much as PSG did back then or the Manchester clubs + pool are spending atm.

I spent all of 30 seconds researching this and there are zero reliable reports saying Blanc will take over at Chelsea.

For the love of football, please not Blanc at Chelsea.

Just finish this off and sing Blanc. Sarri is not worth destroying another season even before it's started.

'Sing' all you want.

Chelsea are close to announcing Laurent Blanc as the new Chelsea manager after agreeing terms earlier this week.

Yet Ancelotti and Emery managed to do it.

Ancelotti didn't fail. He started the building of what PSG is today. Emery was outplayed by a superior Monaco side. No other year has there been a challenge to PSG.

Yeah Bordeaux were really dominant when he won them their first title in 10 years with Moarouane Chamakh as their lead striker.

Look at their competition. Bordeaux won the Coupe De La Ligue the year before Blanc joined. Hardly like he did a Leicester with them.

Now you're moving the goalposts. No matter how you look at it Bordeaux were far far far from "dominant".

They finished 6th with 57 points the season before he took over. He then took them to 2nd with 75 points in his first season and then won the title with 80 points in his second season.

The title he won was very competitive, they won by 3 points and got there by winning ALL of their last 11 league games.

Yeah...I can't really see what Blanc has done "wrong"

He's been out for 2 years because PSG stuck him on 11m a year contract. He didn't need a new job. If the offer is Sarri or Blanc, I'd go with Sarri. But when you consider everyone else that's available...I'd go with Blanc.
