January 20, 20197 yr Maybe going for Barella was an attempt at thinking about changing. He could give good competition for Jorginho’s place and easily play in Kante’s current role as well. But either the club wants to save or the player wants to stay in Italy.
January 20, 20197 yr Tough to watch again yesterday. if players have a bad game technically ie their passing, crossing etc, you can still run tackle and show passion. That is a big thing that Sarri didn’t like. Interesting thing for me is people have different opinions on how we play and personnel on this forum and I don’t get involved with arguing unless it would be something outrageous. The big one is we only have about 5 players that escape criticism or not wanting them starting. There were problems early in the season but because we won papered over the problems. We could have been 5 down at half time to This lot first home game of the season. We play in a way where if we lose the ball we can be in trouble in two passes. As teams have worked us out we can’t penetrate around the box but we still have fullbacks high up the pitch even with two wingers and then don’t have the pace to get back when we lose the ball.

January 21, 20197 yr Well that was a horror show. Sarri picks the same eleven that isn’t working, throws them on the pitch, regardless of the opposition, watches them implode from the first minute. Then makes the same predictable changes, which make absolutely no difference. Then blames the players for not being motivated! WTF is he talking about? I have no idea what he’s doing. I doubt the players do either. It was like watching a car crash in slow motion. If I was his employer I’d think I’d employed a fraud. That wasn’t football management out there. It was like what you’d expect from a precocious 10 year old shuffling random players into a formation, then thinking he’s a genius. And then blaming everybody else for the disastrous result. Christ, that was utterly disjointed, pointless rubbish, masquerading as team tactics. We’re in serious trouble. What scares me most is once we gets out of that top 4 position, I don't think Sarri have it in him to motivate the team to get back to a champions league spot.
January 21, 20197 yr I was gutted we got rid of a serial winner like Conte. But then i was one of the only ones. Be careful what you wish for.Same here bro, it still kills me when I think about it. Yeah Conte wasn't happy because the board don't support him, but he is that can of manager that will will drag a sh*t team with him to success. He really overachieved in his two seasons here.
January 21, 20197 yr Conte was toxic and a one-trick pony. He had long expired and needed to go. I would take Simeone in a heartbeat.I will bring back Conte in a heartbeat. If Conte had been given the money we spent in the summer, we would be top or second in the league by now. He doesn't know failure, he is addicted to success.

Strange then he is not working now, though I get the feeling having seen him at the game yesterday that he might be in discussions about the Spurs job. If that came to fruition that would add some more spice to our matches.

January 21, 20197 yr Late post as to avoid the inevitable meltdown. We started far too slowly and looked toothless all game.Oh well .....UP THE CHELS !
January 21, 20197 yr I stayed clear too All I'll say is that I NEVER expected us to get bullied by Arsenal. Ever. And we did.
January 21, 20197 yr not sure if this was covered here, but the gooners seem to have lost Bellerin for the rest of the season due to tearing his Left Knee ACL - IMHO he was the best gooner on the pitch
