January 19, 20197 yr sarri not playing games in the post match presser, and it’s like I always said the core of this squad has a weak mentality it’s not the managers, sacking managers send the wrong message
January 19, 20197 yr 22 minutes ago, Zola said: Manager Maurizio Sarri said it seems his Chelsea players are "very difficult to motivate" as he heavily criticised their performance in defeat by Arsenal. The Blues lost 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium and only had one shot on target in the match. Chelsea have only won two of their last five matches and are now just three points clear of fifth-placed Arsenal and sixth-placed Manchester United. "I'm really angry about the approach that we adopted today," Sarri said. "It's an approach we can't really accept." In a remarkable press conference after the defeat, Sarri said he wanted to speak in his native Italian rather than English "because I want to send a message to my players and I want my message to be very clear". "I have to say I'm extremely angry, very angry indeed," said Sarri, who took over as Chelsea manager at the start of the season. "This defeat was due to our mentality, more than anything else. "This is something I can't accept. "This group of players are extremely difficult to motivate. "You can find yourself in difficulties from time to time, but we need to react to those difficulties a lot better than we did today. "This is not a team that is going to be well known for its battling qualities but we need to become a team that is capable of adapting, possibly suffering for 10 or 15 minutes then playing our own football. "Today we didn't play our own football." More to follow. Bang on Sarri, but do something about it. Mix it up a little, change it when its not working, don't wait until the last minutes of a game and don't pick the usual suspects every f**kin time.
January 19, 20197 yr 31 minutes ago, TheSage said: Sarri's stubborness in sticking with his one way of playing will cost us dearly and maybe eventually his job. Jorginho has become almost useless. If he is indeed tired as Sarri claims, why not rest him and try something else in midfield? I dunno, maybe 4231 or some form of it with Kante in defensive midfield? We have cover in defence, so maybe try Luiz in midfield? He has the eye for a pass, and I doubt he would do worse than Jorginho. I watched only the first half and realized we would get nothing from the game and decided to switch it off. How can he be tired making 5 yard passes sideways and backwards....ffs....if anyone is tired, it's me watching him!
January 19, 20197 yr I expect only two outcomes now.... we hammer the spuds on Thursday or the players will turn and become even worse. Edited January 19, 20197 yr by SimonH

Good because they have got 2 top managers sacked already, modern football is allowing this diva mentality, they are determined because they are paid so well and pondered to and when it goes wrong it was the manager, the manager can’t kick the ball in the net this squad has needed a clear out since we finished 10th under Jose, win the league then don’t give a toss, same thing under conte

January 19, 20197 yr So basically Jorginho is a sh** version of Bakayoko and makes Obi-Mikel look like a goal scoring machine.
January 19, 20197 yr I think the thing that worries me the most is that he came out and said that the players are difficult to motivate. It was a f**king London Derby ffs. What more motivation do you need??
January 19, 20197 yr you could tell the players have lost faith in Sarriball , there was no pressing in the first half
January 19, 20197 yr Well that was a horror show. Sarri picks the same eleven that isn’t working, throws them on the pitch, regardless of the opposition, watches them implode from the first minute. Then makes the same predictable changes, which make absolutely no difference. Then blames the players for not being motivated! WTF is he talking about? I have no idea what he’s doing. I doubt the players do either. It was like watching a car crash in slow motion. If I was his employer I’d think I’d employed a fraud. That wasn’t football management out there. It was like what you’d expect from a precocious 10 year old shuffling random players into a formation, then thinking he’s a genius. And then blaming everybody else for the disastrous result. Christ, that was utterly disjointed, pointless rubbish, masquerading as team tactics. We’re in serious trouble.

January 19, 20197 yr This opportunity was simply crafted by Side Show Bob - also what about that PK shout in the first half? fuckin' lolpool would have gotten that call btw Aubameyang didn't get any of the ball

I don't think it was a penalty. Many times it seems Hazard is more interested in winning a foul than maintaining possession. Edited January 19, 20197 yr by TheSage
January 19, 20197 yr Been reading this forum for years & as maybe from my username you might guess been following The Blues for a long long time and really feel the need to say something. Sarri is wrong. It's his system. His insistence on hhis way. No plan B This bullsh*t of playing Hazard as a 9. Nonsense! Press Jorginho and it's over. Sorry Sarri but against poorer teams your system looks fine but when you meet a team with a counter plan (mark Jorginho) and who have good players you are f**ked! I am seriously angry at what is happening. Hazard, being made to play this stupid false 9 will be gone in the summer. Willian & Pedro aging and refusal to give HudsonOdoi a proper run Loftus Cheek injury ridden. Barkley ...talent but clueless positionally. Kante ... Jesus! ... the best DM in the world being played out of position. This team is seriously unbalanced and that is down to Sarri. He says he's angry. Well I'm angry... at his bullsh*t.

What more motivation do you need?? It was the same the last two times we have faced Tottenham in the league too. Last season's defeat at home to Tottenham in the league was the lowest point of our season, and I think today's defeat to Arsenal is the lowest point this season so far. To see your own team look like they don't really give a damn in some of the biggest games in a Chelsea football club season is unnacceptable in my opinion.

A number of people have said it before. It's not any one thing, there is something wrong through the core of the club and the constant change of manager does nothing for creating a dynasty. It has been working for gaining trophies recently but the trauma and turmoil is sh!t to watch and at some point this culture will fail. The board are pretty gutless and appear to have previously failed to support the managers when they have tried to change the ethics of the players. Then there are the players whose collective attitude is pretty abysmal. The players i grew up watching were nowhere near as fit, fast, or technical astute. They also weren't anywhere near as well well paid but they would have run through brick walls to play for the club.. Finally the managers have tried to impose a style and philosophy without adapting to the conditions that they are faced with. Sarri being a prime example of having a team of mentally weak and physically slow players, yet they're almost guaranteed a game week in week out. This club needs a revolution. It needs to have a manager that is belived in, regardless of trophies at the outset. It needs 3-4 years. We have some of the most talented youngsters around who will all leave becuase they never play. We need to view our squad and look to have two competing players in every position. I look at Alonso who, as a defender, for mefor his best games this season has still been mediocre. How poor must Emerson be to not be able to get ahead of Alonson who is bereft of pace, has never been a particular good full back, and has had a number of underwhelming performances this season. Alonso knows he has a pass, for meason, week in week out.
January 20, 20197 yr Well... What a sihtshow indeed. CHO not starting is beyond me at tha point ... Drop Kovavic and Jorginho and put Kanté back at 6, put Barkley alongside him and RLC when he comes back from injury. Put CHO as a starter. Now ! Emerson should start ahead of alonso for the next 3 games imo. Alonso needs to be benched. Also, put a STRIKER and stop that false 9 S. I was at first very enthusiastic about sarriball and up to very recently ... But now, seeing how siht we've been recently, I have to say good ol direct football, which our fcuking DNA btw, will save us in the remainder of the season !

Alonso knows he has a pass, for meason, week in week out. Spot on. When our academy has pretty much won everything since 2012, how come NO ONE has been given a fair chance in the team ? The loan army system is pointless since financial independence has been acquired now ! I also strongly believe the board is deluded and still believes we're in 2007/2008 and could nick a trophy on experience or sheer grit alone ! But our system needs changing since we've been found out ! Actually, Conte, for as much siht as he got in 2018, had he been given transfers and confidence à la klopp, he could have developed something interesting with his 3 at the back and maybe would have been able to develop furthermore. But the instant culture of immediate results pretty much killed all his efforts. And we're to be blamed too for that since we were mostly asking for him to leave after his second season. Now we're stuck with a system that needs a complete and total overhaul of the team ... This style will not suit Chelsea imo. It clearly wont. Direct football is our core. We should stick and elaborate around it imo. But the biggest problem is our criminal non use of youth !!!! The lack of confidence in the youngsters will actually hamper the club's ambitions for the next 5 years or so .... It's highly detrimental and we're suffering from it now !

January 20, 20197 yr The irony of course is that the gossip columns are filled with how we are going to cop a 2 window or 4 window ban for the abuse of the youth system and the inducements to lure players to the club. To a club that has no apparent appetite to promote these players to the first team. Of course the ultimate irony will be if these rumours end up being true and we do cop a ban and then need to rely on our youth players coming through.....and they've all buggered off!!
