I genuinely can see this happening.

This summer is Blueco’s last chance to salvage something from the squad they’ve assembled. Get the right manager and players in.

If not… that image very likely will become reality in 2 years time. Depressing. Caicedo and Colwill will hit hard for me.

  1. we got some good players there

  2. Palmer to United - that is a bit frying pan to fire - so unlikely.

  3. the owners of our club are not going anywhere anytime soon - and if they did, who would we get?

Too much f*cking about in transfers.

We could have had Huijsen, Olise and Maignan starting tonight if we didn’t mess about so much. I’ve probably missed a couple too.

I have absolutely no idea what to expect in the next 5 years. They definitely don’t want us to become a mid table team, they’d lose far too much money. This summer will tell us a lot imo.

If we sign the likes of Kvara and Yamal, then I guess we know they have the right intentions at heart. Yeah okay, maybe not superstars but definitely good enough to be starting. (Good enough to start for any of the Chelsea teams before Potter).

If we continue to buy 12 year olds then I guess we need to find a new hobby

I can't see them changing the buy "young raw potential talent players " policy I don't even think we've got the money anyway.??

A leading global investment firm, Clearlake is known for its strategic partnerships and capabilities across private equity, credit and liquid strategies.

I just wish everyone on this forum would express their feelings about Clearlake directly to them...

Just sent an email telling them to sell up and f**k off... hope its the right clearlake.

Joe Shields, Winstanley and Stewart have done far more harm to this club than anyone else. At least the idiots in America have no experience to fall back on, these three clowns are supposed to be some of the best in the world to be in that role. Yes, BlueCo hired them, but the blatant incompetence by these idiots is unforgiveable. The favourtism from Joe Shields to shoehorn his inexperienced mates into every possible role has to fall under some kind of corruption.

BlueCo hired them

BlueCo rewarded them with 6 year extended contracts in appreciation for the work they are doing. The SD's are implementing the transfer policy dictated to them by the owners.

Everything wrong at our club is down to the owners.

PSG didn't just beat us on the pitch. Their project also beat us.

They reformed their strategy at the same time BlueCo came to Chelsea. Let's look at the disparity in strategies.

  • PSG got rid of their egos and lowered the wage bill/Chelsea got rid of their high earners but supplemented quality for quantity

  • PSG appointed the best sporting director available, Luis Campos/Chelsea appointed two average scouts with zero experience as directors

  • PSG appointed one of the best managers in the world, Enrique/Chelsea have appointed 5 yes man managers since turning down Enrique, with each one being less experienced than the previous

  • PSG utilized Campos' experience and their scouting network to find the best young players in Europe/Chelsea hoard Brighton and Man City rejects

  • PSG utilized Campos to create a balanced squad/Chelsea's sporting directors created the most imbalanced squad in England

  • PSG adequately bring in top players on high wages because they are worth it/Chelsea don't compete for such players and instead by bang average players on high amounts but less wages.

  • PSG win the Treble. Chelsea struggle for Top 4 and get embarrassed out of Europe.

The Clearlake / BlueCo situation might be resolved in an unexpected way.

The way "Mad Dog Donnie" Trump is acting and dissing the UK and Europe, there is a possibility he will start a war with us when he has finished with Iran.

😂 I'm not looking forward to his nonsense during the world cup.

I can't imagine BlueCo told Joe Shields to hire all of his useless mates and ex players.

Thing is, we don't even need them to leave. Just to change their failed plan.

It's so frustrating because it's all so easily fixable if it weren't for sheer arrogance and stubbornness.

Who knows, maybe Iran will recall Eghbali and make him their new supreme leader 😅

November 2025.....

"However, Chelsea believe that they have been at the forefront of innovation since the Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital takeover, and they have no intention of changing their approach. On the contrary, they have now doubled down on the uniqueness of it.'

Chelsea appoint a fifth sporting director

While most clubs have just one sporting director in charge of footballing matters, Chelsea now have five. Former Liverpool official Fallows has joined, and this has entailed a small change in designations.

I agree, they just set out the policy he has to follow

BlueCo are more than happy with Shields.

The report about the performance of the SD's and the extended contracts is online. It's full of praise for the SD's. I'll try and find it

Thing is i'm finding it difficult to believe that BlueCo are "happy" with the directors or the strategy they have in place.

The fans speaking with Finkelstein just proved to me that they are scrambling. This was also during a time where we were only several points off of Arsenal. We are now 20 points off and knocked out of the Champions League.

Chelsea

Deep breath. Chelsea have not one, not two, not three, not four, but a whopping five sporting directors. The system was implemented after the Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital takeover in 2022 and is not going anywhere despite external criticism. Chelsea feel their setup ensures duties are clearly defined and prevents power from being held by one individual. Head coaches have to adapt. Paul Winstanley, previously at Brighton, and Laurence Stewart, once of Monaco, lead the recruitment team and are not short of support. Joe Shields is sporting director for scouting and talent and has used past links with Manchester City to identify signings. Dave Fallows, who leads football development, is credited with Liverpool’s signing of Mohamed Salah. Sam Jewell, who adds to the Brighton connections, looks after global recruiting and is heavily involved with Strasbourg, Chelsea’s partner club. Liam Rosenior, the new head coach, has a lot of faces to remember. Jacob Steinberg

After the last game last season Forest away..

Foundations for Future Success

Chelsea’s victory over Nottingham Forest, attended by Winstanley, Stewart, and co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali, wasn’t just another match-day but a testament to the faith the board holds in its sporting directors. This duo, tasked with overseeing Chelsea’s transfer strategy, appears to have secured the board’s confidence despite a rollercoaster season. Their approach to rejuvenating the squad last summer has been met with mixed reviews. While some critics attribute this season’s inconsistencies to these changes, the foundations for future success have been laid with a clear strategy focused on reducing the average age of the squad

Nice little five aside team, I wonder if they huddle in the boardroom before a game?
