I would also suggest that part of the reason we ran riot in the second half is the fact that we had so much possession and were constantly probing at their defense that they started to get leggy and we remained comparatively fresh, so once the breakthrough happened they had nothing to lift their game with, look at a lot of "possession" teams they often have these sort of results due to shear weight of pressure

People, its not about long range passes from that position. the major job of someone playing in that role is defending. it is what makalele does, after defending the ball, you then pass the ball, maybe short pass, to someone in front of you, or long pass depending on your ability. But particularly, you need defensive ability, you must be able to defend, that is what someone is looking for from someone playing that role. lets forget the long range passes that Jorginho gives, those are irrelevant. the role in that position is to defend, defend. That is why we need someone who can defend in that position. As it is now, we are in this situation, we did not get Declan Rice, against easier teams that do not have very strong and intelligent attacking midfielders, Jorginho can still be playing, he may not have much to do in terms of defending. but against top teams when there will be pressure on that position, Kante has to do what he can do in that position. Ideally, we should have two players who are defensively minded in that midfield against big teams to stop their attacks, but since we only have Kante, we must assume we are going to be conceeding goals against big teams.

But, to be smart and wise, we have to play Kante, Mount and Havertz in the midfield to have a lot of attackers on the pitch. So that even if we conceed, we can try a 'score more than them' style and win the game. If not, we may loose against all the big teams in the league this season, and i dont think that will be good for our ambition as a club.

About Ben Chillwell, I think that's the best left back performance I've ever seen in my entire life in the whole world. Even Marcelo, I don't think his crosses are as good as that cross that Ben Chillwell gave Zouma to score that second goal. On top of that, he was taking our corner kicks. OMG, that was some performance. 

I hope he continues like that.

I don't understand how some people aren't getting this. It's not like Lampard wants to play Werner on the wing, he is being forced to because of injuries. 

As for the rest of your post, I agree that Chilwell had a good game, but come on, best left back performance you have ever seen? Surely you are trolling right?

I find it kind of disrespectful that you will tell someone on this forum that he is trolling. On Werner, I understand you, but on Chilwell, I said what I said. He was taking corner kicks, he was taking free kicks, if I'm right, he scored, look at his assist for Zouma, look at when he dribbled two or three players towards the end of the match, he chested one long ball into our box to the keeper. 

Let's appreciate what he did. I know people like Alphonso Davies, Marcelo, Robertson and Roberto Carlos. 

But that was some performance by Ben Chilwell.

Well, sorry about that, but I just didn't think you were being serious. It was good performance from Chilwell, but it's not one that will be remembered by anybody as the best ever. It wasn't exactly the same level as Ashley Cole's performances in the Champions League against Bayern and Barcelona in 2012 for example.
