Chelsea will face either Everton or Tottenham Hotspur at home in the fifth round of the Women's FA Cup.

Sonia Bompastor's side secured their place in the fifth round thanks to a 4-0 win against Championship side Charlton Athletic at Kingsmeadow on Sunday. Mayra Ramirez opened the scoring in the 40th minute before Guro Reiten, Aggie Beever-Jones and Niamh Charles found themselves on the scoresheet.

We will now face the winner of Everton v Spurs at Kingsmeadow in the next round, with that fourth-round contest set to be played on 29 January after it was postponed on Sunday due to the cold weather.

Our fifth-round clash against fellow Women's Super League opposition is due to be played on the weekend of 9 February.

The Blues have won the FA Cup on five occasions, with our last triumph being in the 2022/23 season when Sam Kerr scored the only goal as we defeated Manchester United 1-0 at Wembley.

Ticket details and further information can be found on the Chelsea website and app in due course.

Just curious, as a Canadian, what temperature was it on Sunday?

As our resident lawn expert I’ll point out that the pitch would have frozen during the minus temperature and would still be frozen because the women don’t get stadiums with undersoil heating etc.

The league cup semi-final will be at Kingsmeadow at 7pm on Wednesday, 5 February.

Aaah ok! Perhaps Canadian stadiums have undersoil heating because Canada played a couple world cup qualifiers when it was minus double digits!

Yeah makes sense that you’re geared up better to deal with colder weather over there.
