Chelsea v Palace (FA Semi) Sun 17th Apr 2021 16:30 GMT

We were certainly louder outside Wembley. The underground train I got at Kings Cross had more CP supporters and hardly any Chelsea, they were loud and cocky (“do you hear the Chelsea?” Etc) but as soon as we got to Baker St, the train crammed with Chelsea and the CP went all quiet and could not hear them any more. The same getting at Wembley Park Station and the avenue to the stadium. As soon as we got inside, everyone had dispersed and the Chelsea went quieter, true. We’ve also been quiet in games that have been boring as hell, like Brentford or yesterday’s first half. Second half we lightened up after the goal.

Been to a dozen or so away games this season and our away support is supurb , I was at Southampton the weekend before and we sang all through the game.

Yesterday was different, great before the match on the train and around the globe and Marylebone Station, but inside Palace totally outsung us.

The reason their semi final was like Luton in 94 , it was special day out for them and a run of the meal game for us, as we've been here so many times before.

Would have been better at Spuds or the Arse.

Another thing the constant sun in our eyes didn't help.

We better sing up for the final  can't stand the vermin

Been a great season in my opinion though

Pre-match was brilliant, just constant singing in the concourse areas etc but as soon as we got in the ground it all went very quiet.  We were on the train home with loads of Palace supporters who gave us no end of stick saying that all that hassle about not being able to go to matches and buy tickets and we may as well have not been there anyway.  I didn't think it was that bad but maybe it sounded a lot different at the other end of the ground.  Funniest thing was we got talking to the Palace fans on the journey home and one of them ended up living down our road and was a flipping Man Utd fan!

Too true...

Well I will be doing my best in the building up to the game. I hope your freezer will be well stocked with Ice cream, that you will have the right kit on and multiple training pants.

And @Munkworth needs to do his stick too and be even more insufferable than normal 👍

He’s been relieved of the honour of starting the Match Day thread it seems, @coco must think it doesn’t bring good luck anymore!

I’ll have to train hard to get myself up a level but I’m willing to do the work.

Iv'e gone for the infamous copy/paste hack (copy the 2012 CL thread and paste/edit for the new thread), only been used once before when we beat Man city in the final.

Good man, that is the sort of commitment Man United are sorely lacking

It was great on the way home, everyone had cheered up massively, i think the fans were suffering come down from midweek in the first half, and the players.

There was one d**khead Palace fan in the station giving it the ‘Chelsea rent boys’ and just getting a Shooting Stars style handbags reaction back. A nice reaction to a homophobic twat I thought.
