I agree he shouldn’t faff around but at the same time obviously don’t take a touch out your feet when an attacker in 2 yards away from you. At some point we have to question why a professional footballer can’t play football. I could honestly do better and I never made it pro.

On the other hand, you have fathered Millie Bright Jnr.

Are we really going to go into next season with this clown still our No. 1?

Heard that Newcastle are currently looking at taking Trafford from man City for next season. I know both Pope and Ramsdale have had indifferent periods but I would still take either over Sanchez so why are Newcastle favourites to get Trafford, when we should be looking at him (or Pickford or Henderson).

Probably because they have Penders lined up at Strasbourg.

I don't care how good Penders is I just don't trust a 20 year old keeper.

Age can be irrelevant subject to ability. Donnarumma made his Serie A debut at 16. Trafford is 23. He really struggled in his first PL season at 21 but has ability and has improved out of sight. The question is: does Penders have the ability?

Is Penders even that good?

Mixed reports I’ve seen although a lot of question marks are more over the sweeper/keeper role than his ability.

City signed arguably the best keeper in the world and the best young keeper in England in a fortnight when the keeper they already had was pretty decent.

We have suffered years of Sanchez while we wait and see if a kid we signed comes good. They act like big boys we move like minnows.☹️

See how happy Trafford or Marmadashvilli are sitting on the bench.

Jury has to be out on Penders. I've seen him a few times, seems to be playing less sweeper/keeper than under Rosenior. Looks perfectly capable in the context of Ligue 1, which, top 3 or 4 aside, isn't the most demanding.

Exactly, to sit on your hands and ‘wait for Penders’ is nonsense and your never going to compete with a club like city if we act like that.

Last night summed Sanchez perfectly. A couple of decent saves which helped to keep the score line somewhat respectable. But then the usual complete howler and kicking the ball into touch so many times I lost count.

I don't care if he does make the odd great save. The guy has always been and always will be a clown and although he is only one of our many problems, he HAS to be replaced. No sensible club can afford to have a keeper like Sanchez.

The world has known that for a good while. The world, save for our SDs.

Exactly.

I’ve said it so many times, every goalkeeper at every level makes decent saves sometimes. A few saves here and there doesn’t impress me at all.

He’s not consistent, makes at least one big mistake per match, doesn’t command his area despite being 6 foot 6 inches, is rubbish with his feet and he never has had a match where we should have been battered but have fluked a 1-0 (because he doesn’t keep clean sheets).

His reaction responses are off, he reacts a second too late to everything - half the goals he concedes ain’t even in the corner of the goal or top bins, most of them go in nearer to the middle of the goal.

He is a championship level goalkeeper.

Are we entering the season with this guy as number 1 again ?

Absolutely! We've done this for 3 years now, and as such deserve to hear his walkout song, Footloose, assigned by @just , at every game. Stamford Bridge will be rocking!
