Last season required 16 points to guarantee top eight spot. Six points and best goal difference was enough to secure a play=off match.

I'm no conspiracy theorist, and am usually sceptical about 'warm balls', but I do wonder how much it's coincidence and how much it's software that's given FIFAs champions a tough UEFA comp fixture list. Either way, it is a tough drawer. But hey, we are officially the best team on Earth!

Napoli fixture is pretty box office, Conte will be on his A-Game, Lukaku out for blood. They made some decent signings and McTominay has carried on his superb form from last season already. Home atmosphere will be pretty intense.

Can't agree this is a hard draw. Barcelona and Bayern (away) are difficult but everything else should be a walk in the park. We shouldn't be contemplating dropping points against Serie A sides, home or away.

Oh wow, I just assumed that the list is the order of the matches and just the dates and times are to be announced. By your post do you think the the order of these matches could still be mixed up?

I think the list is just the clubs we play ?? Was that the order they were drawn out ??

Ah sh*t, that's a bit offputting. There was me thinking if we could get off to a good start, if it gets heavy going in the middle when the team will undoubtedly be feeling the effects of the CWC at least we get a solid end of this to push for qualification. Actually I think you are right, the club gives that list as the path that has been set out, with dates etc to be confirmed. Apologies

I wouldnt mind if we have 2 or 3 big games a the end, would mean we should have tie up a decent league position by then. Last season quite a lot of teams were guaranteed top 8 or 16 with a few games left to play.

I dont think it is, there will need to be all kinds of organising as some clubs cant play at home same day as others, trying to fit tv schedules etc.
