Keegan wants SWP

Featured Replies

Not sure about this, I know statistically Kalou has been great for us this season and has played on the wing quite a bit, but from performances I've seen so far I'd take SWP every time over any of our other wingers.

I've been well impressed with him this season. If he can replicate that kind of form in big games for us. I.E a champions league final then he'd be well important for us.

Yup, not sure I agree with the 'right price' thing at all, Chelsea are arguably in a better financial state than any other club in the world, so I think we should only get rid of players if a) they want to leave B) they're not needed at the club.

Of course there are exceptions, like I'd take TBH (despite defending him on here and thinking he's a bloody fantastic fourth choice CB) - but generally if the player is the best we have in a certain position we shouldn't really consider getting rid of them.

imo.

The deal is done. King Kev and SWP are posing for pictures at St.James Park as we speak.

Sweepy has done well this season and is decent in his new inside rightish position, be a shame for him to go as he has stuck at it well.

Is that the Newcastle Kit behind them? icon_lol.gif

SWP for Duff + 7m

Hope that's tongue in cheek Gem. Or your heart ruling your head? As much as we might have rated Duffer once upon a time he's a shadow of the player he once was.

As for SWP going to Newcastle you have to laugh. He has improved a lot for us and I really hope now that we'll see him be consistently good, but I would think he's the last type of player Newcastle need in their current situation icon_rolleyes.gif

had to laugh at the sun's take on the story where they said swp (and Bridge) are gagging to move to newcastle...why would swp, who's playing every week in a title/trophy challenging side, move to a mid-table wanabe?

SWP is a match winner & a match turner, we havnt got many of them !

What he said!

I'm still unconvinced about SWP. Yes his been good lately, but its been against midtable teams. I am still unsure about his ability to step up and dominate games on the big occassion.

That doesn't mean we should sell him, just that we shouldn't be relying on him to be our match winner until we know that he can be.

well put Jim,

anyway, it would be absolutely foolish for us to sell him right now, especially as bad as we are hurt with injuries. I don't know if he will still be with us in the summer, or if he will go, but in no way should we get rid of him right now. I am not one of SWPs biggest fans, in fact he is too hit or miss....but, he's important to us right now so no chance of selling!

Completely off topic - but for some reason this thread got me thinking about him - but whatever happend to that young guy on here who was a member of the young libs or something? Nice fella.

What was his name? Paul O'Leary, Patrick Neary, something like that...

Yeah, that's him. Always thought he had the sort of cool name you might give to a character in a novel. Like, Paul Seery, 35, Creative Director of Seery Advertising, was the type of 80s alpha male who stunk up the room when he walked into a bar with the scent of a natural born winner. Spraying it at the feet of the ordinary Joes who avoided his gaze, he marked his territory with every Cuban heeled step toward whichever obligatory blonde had caught his eye. And whose breasts would later adorn the headboard of his bed, as he pounded her rhythmically from behind to the sound of Frankie Goes to Hollywood...

Or something like that... icon_wink.gif
