yeah Joe really tried, but even he had no end product.

I for one really hope Barnsley win the bloody thing, just imagine how it must feel tonight bein a Tykes fan.

I remember how good it felt when we beat Liverfool at Stamford Bridge, Tommy Langley stylee, and indeed Clive Walker, todays result is way more impressive, good luck to 'em. clap2.gif

No-one.

It would be an insult to the fans to even suggest one in my view.

And you might want to change the Joe Cole entry to

Joe " I might think the FA Cup matters and run around a lot, but I still didn't do anything with the ball even though I had more of it than anyone else" Cole

You just can't bring yourself to praise him can you ES? icon_sad.gif

Didn't do anything with the ball? Did you have your eyes shut or something?

On a day when he was head and shoulders above everyone else and created a number of scoring chances that others f**ked up, you still have to have a little dig.

Very Sad.

I watched it with quite a few other Chelsea lads. Of course all were well pissed off with the result and the performance, but every single one of them, without exception, said Joe had a good game and was our best, (only), player.

I didn't have my eyes shut. I saw plenty of effort but precious little substance. A number of scoring opportunities? Really? That's funny, because I don't recall us have many scoring opportunities.

I can think of lots of good little bits of play from him. I saw lots of little flicky tricks, but nothing came at the end of any of it. The guy is an England international and whenever he got in a good position he didn't produce.

I'm not singling him out. Far from it. But he was just as crap as the rest of them yesterday.

Man of the Match is not a title that he deserved - and nor did any of the Chelsea players.

Love the descriptions!!! happy0034.gif

It would be easy to vote Coley, but he did get increasingly greedy and i think if he had not been we could have made some decent moves.

I voted Kalou (first time ever I think) as he at least WANTED the ball...which put him aprt from most of his comrades.

I think I knew it was over when I saw Pizzaro getting ready to come on... I have never seen a player that needs a mobility scooter before...well apart from Eduardo!!!! PDT_nunu.gif

Joe beat defenders time and time again - put balls into the box only for others - SWP and Anelka - to completey f**k up. He put one literally on a plate for Anelka but he somehow ran in front of the ball!!

But he was just as crap as the rest of them yesterday.

That is sooooo wide off the mark it's laughable icon_rolleyes.gif

There are times when I think Joe gets more credit than he deserves for a performance and when ethical is right to tone down the praise however I think you are off the mark on this one mate.

Joe did create chances yesterday however I also don't think you are giving due recognition to the fact that there were a number of occasions when Joe created space to deliver a ball, looked up and realised that there was nobody to give it so as Malouda was strolling, Anelka drifting totally out of position and SWP chatting to Essien. If he had just thumped it in he would have been accusd of being wasteful and so he had to double back.

I just saw the high-, I mean low-lights of the game, and I forgot about that one great chance that Joe Cole had in which SWP made a great pass to him about 8 yards in front of goal, and Joe scuffed his shot wide. That was our best chance, totally *#*^ed up.

I could not vote for him as MOM just because of that play.

You may well be right Loz and perhaps I am being too harsh on Joe on this occasion as a reaction to that.

But I really didn't feel that anyone came out of the match with any credit and so it is hard to read so many comments saying everyone was crap apart from Joe.

Then again, we all see things differently. There are even those who think that Grant is doing a decent job! I know, you can hardly believe it!

Joe Cole

stood out as our main threat although never really threatened icon_lol.gif Kalou next best for me

Grant done brilliantly to put out a strong team expecting a tough game on a meadow of a pitch and with Drogba and Lamps carrying knocks got this one spot on...

I'm not voting this one just because of the pathetic performance. Although i will agree that Joe Cole was the only one who tried to look interested in this game. Sure he did a few unnecessary crossovers, but still he was the only one going foward, and creating chances. Joe tried to get anelka into the game on a few ocassions, but Anelka was either offsides or totally wasn't on the same track as Cole. The set pieces were a joke and the passing was laughable. And what really angered me was Grant's subbing tactics, thinking about them just makes me wanna kill somebody. I still think having Sinclair on the bench and subbing him for Malouda would have changed the game. And what happedned to Sheva, I'd rather see him play than Pizarro! Sack Grant, don't care anymore. Players should be ashamed of themselves too, all of them.
