Posted April 29, 200817 yr According to the BBC website, Eriksson has been told he will be sacked as Man Citeeh manager. Wasn't Eriksson supposed to be in the running for Chelsea manager in the last few months of Ranieri's reign? Let the rumour mill start anew on him becoming our next manager after all... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/footbal ... 370698.stm
April 29, 200817 yr Can we then go in for Micah Richards? Would solve A LOT of problems in defense and midfield. What about their young midfielders Ireland and Johnson? They've looked good too. Maybe better than Sidwell at any rate. On SGE, I can't decide whether or not he'll be good for us. He was crap with England when it mattered, but his past record with clubs is magnificent. HOWEVER, his time with City wasn't so stellar and they failed to last the pace. That alone speaks volumes regarding his motivational and man-management skills in the English game.
April 29, 200817 yr Sven Goran Eriksson at the Bridge?!? I think he'd be... Excellent. Haha only joking ( just wanted to post that image). To be honest I don't know how he'd do, he'd certainly enjoy spending Roman's millions. I'd rather us get a younger manager.
April 29, 200817 yr NO, thanks! "It" will not do, as I never thought of him highly as a manager. I urge him to stay on "I'm on Setanta Sports" with Jose on a full-time basis. There...he is fantastic!! Why not?
April 29, 200817 yr stupid that city are getting rid- they play good football and he's improved them hugely. I'd rather him than most.
April 29, 200817 yr Id rather he stayed at Citeh Agree they are mad to boot him - and what a way to do it Dont forget they did the double over the mankers this season
April 29, 200817 yr City are crazy to dismiss Sven after just one season. Having said that, i don't want him anywhere near Chelsea.
April 29, 200817 yr Interesting interview with Noel Gallacher on the BBC website. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/7373404.stm Kept referring to Sven as the best manager out there apart from Mourinho and that the only way Shinawatra could get away with sacking Ericsson was if he had Jose lined up to replace him!

Never thought I would admit to this in public. But I would rather keep Avram than get SGE. I have been one of Fester's biggest critics (though not on here) and I must now admit that the guy is actually winning me round (or maybe its JT and the Boys with their performances)
April 29, 200817 yr No, no no.Lippi with Zola and Clarke as his assistants is the way to go :-)) Now THAT sounds like a F*CKING GOOD IDEA !!!!
April 30, 200817 yr I'd definately have him over most of the options listed, including Rijkaard. Man City have played some good stuff this season and though he has spent money, I don't think anyone can argue he hasn't spent is extremely well. I mean 50 odd million pounds for Garrido, Corluka, Geovanni, Elano, Petrov, Castillo, Bojinov, Caicedo and Bianchi, his clearly done well. Man City would be compeletely nuts to sack him. So yes, i'd definately have him.
April 30, 200817 yr I've heard their chairman wants Jose Who wouldn't? Oh, sorry, my bad... Cheers, Butch
April 30, 200817 yr Your thoughts on Eriksson, Butch?. Your one of more educated, intelligent posters on here. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts.

As for lining up Mourinho for City, considering how Sven has been treated by Siniwatra (spelling?) he'd be seriously nuts to take that job on.

Yes come on butch, your posts I enjoy tucking into so lets have some input. I must admit my views on Sven have changed quite a bit from being a little negative due to the England thing to coming back to seeing the whole picture him and his previous work in Spain, Portugal and now England. I have to say I'm impressed with what he did with City in such a short space of time. And he isn't scared to spend cash to get somewhere unlike Wenger.
April 30, 200817 yr but who was responsible for Man City's crash in form since the turn of the year? that would be Grant.

April 30, 200817 yr the two Managers that are being touted are Scolari, and the Croatian National coach?
