When asked if he had signed for anyone, Mourinho said no. A week ago, he was quoted as that he should leave Chelsea at the beginning of the season, but he did add that he is in conversation with Roman and the relationship is cordial. Now Bosingwa, another player under Mourinho, is poised to sign for us!

Is he coming back? Mourinho...oh Mourinho..... ( the news of all news)

Ignoring the fact for a second that I could never see this happening, it would be a ridiculous thing to do.

Bring him back and how long would it last? One season, maybe two. Then we would back at square one again with irreconcilable differences meaning Jose leaves and we are once again looking for another manager who wants to change the shape of the team.

im with loz on this one. it would make no sense at all for him to return. ive said before that its very, very rare for a returning hero to accomplish anything. plus, their would always be that lingering doubt over wether he would stay or go at the first sign of any argument or falling out. then were back to square one and hunting for someone to take over from jose with the squad in chaos once again. so id rather have jose as a part of our history and leave it there.

The sooner he joins Inter the better,he has been a shadow hanging over our club.

I'm not being harsh.....

...you have to admit its the truth!

Not doubting what he did with the team,we all lived it!

But all this speculation......its not going to happen, lets face it!

We need to judge the club by our own standards and move on from Jose.

He is part of our past, lets leave it their......where we can fondly remember that time!

Lets crack on!

The Sun carried a report, Grant is sacked...

See... don't say I didn't tell you so...

I should be in MI11. This is not a difficult one to link...

I am joking of course, but would be damned if Frank Rijkaard is appointed.

He has achieved little this season. I do not believe that a really good manager can suffer

from short period of underperformance. Alex has a few title-less years but Manyoo was

always in for the challenge and appearing in Cup finals.

Frank is a step forward perhaps from Grant in his credentials, but definitely nowhere near King

Mourinho.

Mourinho romance must be allowed to continue...

Considering both men's personalities can't possibly have changed much, wanting Jose back or thinking there are signs it may come true seems like a fools errand to me.

Unless one or both of them can have a personality transplant, the idea is too awful to contemplate - for both them and us.

I'd love to see Jose don't get me wrong, but after how he left us in the beginning of the season...it'd be just too weird if he came back. He goes for 9 months comes back and acts like nothing happened, we gotta move on now; and find a new manager!

It's clear from recent comments he made in Portugal last week that he has a job lined up probably with Inter.

He said he would be at work within a month at a club for sure.

Its got to be Inter.

Let's put our personal opinions aside and discuss whether we think it will or won't happen.

Reasons for:

1. Still is in contact with the Chelsea board and owner

2. Was supposedly bought a Ferrari by Abramovich

3. Fox Dynamo , appears perhaps to be the kind of signing Mourinho might have made if he were manager at Chelsea

4. Drogba has been non-committal about leaving Chelsea recently and perhaps is waiting to see if Mourinho rejoins or not

5. Anelka's comments suggest that he perhaps knew Grant was leaving and that his "promise" of a regular place in a 4-4-2 formation next season is no longer valid and he knows Mourinho probably doesn't want him having not signed him previously.

Reasons against:

1. Abramovich supposedly wants Dutch style, attacking football and Mourinho is never going to be the type to give him that

2. If Mourinho does return, its possible the side will move back to a 4-4-2 formation which would potentially invalidate point 5 of the reasons for

Feel free to add more reasons for and against, trying to avoid duplication where possible.

Whether it will or won't happen is a matter of personal opinion.

...

Some say you should be under the M11 but I for one actually enjoy reading your posts.

Abramovich,

All is forgiven! Bring back The Special One! BackJose.gifBackJose.gifBackJose.gifBackJose.gifBackJose.gif

Amazingly, I can actually see this happening.

Roman finally admitting, in private at least, that he made a massive mistake. JM also admitting that he might do things differently.

Both of these egos agreeing that they jointly have something to prove to the World.

JM resisting Inter, Barca, Milan et al because he EXPECTED (or was told he would)

to return to the Bridge?????

I don't want jose.

let me be clearer- I think the way he left was wrong, and in general I'm not a fan of changing managers mid season.

however, I do think he is more of an impact manager than someone long term and I do think we were generally going backwards as a side- that doesn't mean if he stayed on we'd end up relegated- he's world class and I'm only talking relative to our best season and best football... but I think in terms of signings and the sort of effect he was having on his players things were starting to get a bit stale and the quality of the squad heavily in favour of defensive players. I think he's the best we've ever had, certainly in my lifetime, but I don't think it would be the best appointment. I'd have him ahead of your laudrups, rijkaards and mancini's without hesistation of course, but he'd be behind lippi, hiddink, even sven for me if I'm honest.

at the time he joined a club which was very different, and he built upon a squad that needed different things to the one we have now. I'd actually love to see him back managing us, but not for 5, 10 even 15 years. I think now, as odd as it sounds when talking about one of the elite managers, bringing back jose would prioritise sentiment over what's truly best for the club.

IMO.

let's look forward. time for a world class manager to bring something different, and time to stop thinking about the past. we don't support liverpool, and our best years can still be ahead of us.

but he'd be behind lippi, hiddink, even sven for me if I'm honest.

SVEN??? Now, that totally killed your little piece!

by no means my first choice, but he did a very good job at city overall I feel (bear in mind fulham spent £20m last year), having very little time to basically recruit a new team who had not played together in pre season, and for a club that had lost key players in barton and distin. also, city played good football, and sven showed last season how completely comfortable he was with playing young players. who were michael johnson and steven ireland a year ago? also city's first league double over united (doesn't sven have a good record against fergie over the years?) in 400 seasons.

to conclude, he's quality, and I'd be optimistic with him in charge.
