here's my list of players departing this summer, from likeliest to least likely. not my wishes, just my conjecture.

MOST LIKELY

-------------------As Good As Gone---------------------

1. Tal Ben-Haim - I think he's already gone

2. Steve Sidwell - As good as gone

3. Claudio Pizarro - You remember him, right?

4. Juliano Belletti - Bosingwa's capture seals the deal

5. Andriy Shevchenko - Dosvidaniya, Sheva.

-------------------Most Likely Gone---------------------

6. Didier Drogba - Probably in Italy already

7. Ricardo Carvalho - His statement earlier this week broke my heart

8. Frank Lampard - I think he's been wanting to leave for 2 years now

-------------------Wouldn't Be Surprised---------------------

9. Shaun Wright Phillips - Slight chance he stays

10. Florent Malouda - Assuming we sign new wingers

11. Carlo Cudicini - Would you really blame him?

12. Wayne Bridge - See No. 11

13. Paulo Ferreira - Most expensive back-up RB in the world

-------------------Probably Staying---------------------

14. Michael Essien - What have we promised him about his role next year?

15. Nicolas Anelka - Wanderlust under control?

16. Hilario - 3rd choice keepers are unpredictable

17. Claude Makelele - Slight chance he just retires, esp. if he is injured in Euro08

-------------------Almost Assuredly Here---------------------

18. Petr Cech - People continue to sniff around him

19. Salomon Kalou - No reason to think he'd leave, but maybe someone offers greater role?

20. Michael Ballack - Especially if Frank leaves, he's here for the duration

21. Ashley Cole - Not going anywhere, especially with his salary demands

22. John Obi Mikel - One of our crown jewels, right?

23. Alex - Our starting CB next year if Carvalho departs?

24. Joe Cole - Staying

-------------------Here Forever---------------------

25. John Terry - Will be buried in blue one day

LEAST LIKELY

I agree completely with 'as good as gone' list, but i feel there's a good chance Lamps and Ricky will stay.

Drogba may leave and i wouldn't shed any tears. He's been tremendous player for us for several years but he has been disrespectful to the club for too long mouthing off to anyone who'd listen. Plus,he's already 30 and if we can get any good price for him it should be now.

After what happened yesterday the club may be more willing to let him go.

There are several options to look at in the transfer market when it comes to strikers and while we could never replace Drogba (he is a unique talent) they have other skills to offer which may be more suitable to the new playing style.

I'd ship out SWP, and possibly Malouda, if there are any takers with good offers. First has speed but nothing else, second has no speed and looks limited in other departments, too.

We need better faster wingers who can beat their man and put the quality cross in a box, if we're serious about improving our attacking game.

Drogba certainly needs to go, we need something new and fresh at chelsea and we need to start by getting a new Striker.

He has gave us some great games and some terrible ones, his time is up.

Mot to sure about Belletti, I think he has it pretty good with us, and accepts that he is a back up. I think it would be more likely that Paulo leave. Belletti will probably realize he could see out his contract here quite nicely.

I think Anelka will leave, back to Bolton, haha!

I don't know about Carvalho, what was his comment? I really hope that he stays, but if his comments were about heading back to Portugal, I'd be sad because it would certainly signify he's intending to leave.

I'd like to see Malouda stick it out for a year, but as you say, it depends on who we sign in the summer

other than that, I agree with what I can remember of your list. Also, wasn't their talk about Essien being happy at the internal bickerings at the club, and looking to leave? I think Drogba could be seen as part of those problems, so if he goes Essien may stay. When Drogba and Ballack were arguing in the Liverpool game, he just looked like he was saying "not again"

Kenyon just said somewhere that we will be spending something like 100mill but not to rebuild just to tweak the team. He also said that the players they want to keep will probably stay.

So I'm pretty sure that Carvo is one player we want to keep. I would also think that Drogs is someone we wan't to keep. Sheva, Siwell, Ben Haim maybe SWP are goners IMO.

carvalho is a must keep player. drogba can leave, in fact i`ll take the get to the airport. this season is gonna see massive changes for us i think. but hopefully more evolution that revolution. if we just go and change the majority of the squad, next season will be a difficult one. we need to bring in 3 or 4 players while letting more go. the squad is too big in my opinion. we need to get rid of the flotsam and build the quality.

Great list. Question for the rest of you...where will Scott Sinclair figure on this list? Are his days of being loaned out done with? Is he still in the frame for regular inclusion in the senior squad?

7. Ricardo Carvalho - His statement earlier this week broke my heart

What did he say?

don't remember the exact quote, but when questioned about his future, he refused to commit to playing in blue next year and said something like, "We'll just see what happens when the season is over." maybe i am overreacting, but it seemed a strong indication of his desire to leave.

The next manager will have a big say in who's leaving and who's staying. Imagine if Jose comes back, Drogba and Carvalho will definitely stay. If Mancini comes, he may want get rid half of the team and build one to his taste. The ones who are definitely going are Sidwell, Pizarro, Ben Haim, can't find place for those guys even in second 11..

With all the constant talk of new arrivals and potential signings, isn't it about time the Club started to coax certain players towards the exit door? I am sure that Scolari will have been briefed or shown videos of all of the squad and it will not have taken a footballing genius to see that certain players are well below the mark needed at a Club like Chelsea, so to be a little controversial, These are the players that I would like to see LEAVE Chelsea and in this preferred order ;

1. Steve Sidwell (no comment necessary, oh alright then Championship player at best) £4m

2. SWP (too many chances given and not taken) £8m

3. Ben Haim (kicked Petr's head in) £3m

4. Pizzarro (started well, faded fast) £2m

5. Malouda (probably should be number 1 in this list for lack of effort) £15m

6. Makelele (Has done us proud but can now only play two games a month) Free

7. Drogba (top striker on his day, but he doesn't want to be here) £25m

8. Belletti (will never forget/forgive the first half in the CC Final against Spuds) £3m

There, thats £60 million quid's worth of revenue, surely even Kenyon can work out that this will be enough to pay for either Messi or Kaka

You could add Lampard to that list, 2/3 years of contract talks and yet to successfully negotiate a new contract, also out of contract and walks for free next summer

1) Sidwell's as good as gone

2) SWP served us as best as he could (Everton in the CC {both legs} = his best performances). He's a talented player and he needs to go to a club where he'll get a place in the starting 11 week in week out.

3) Never did anything.

4) "Started Well"? Scored against Birmingham in his first game then did nought.

5) Disagree. He's only been at us a season. See how he does under Big Phil first before considering selling him in my book.

6) Brilliant player. Surely we can get him for a few million?

7) Cheerio.

8) He won't get a chance with Paulo and Bosingwa there now, unfortunately. He looked half decent to be honest.

Bring in Kaka!

Or to rot in the reserves - if Chelsea is ever going to do such a thing but there tabloids are never short of hot story

Am I the only person who wants to see the back of Anelka more than any other player?

He's one of the main ones I want to see go, showed no bottle in Moscow then had the cheek to moan about not having toime to warm up - to take a penalty. Got to go.

if lamps wants to go, and I think it's inevitable that he will, I think we should step aside... after, what 7 amazing years he's given to the club, at this stage in his career although he's still got loads to offer he's given us his best seasons already.

he'd be a big loss, sure, but a full seasons from ballack and deco (and essien playing in midfield with his finger pulled out) could be a bigger gain. looking at it with no sentiment at all, he wouldn't start the season as a first choice IMO.
