Crazy doesn't even begin to describe it. Israel has declared that it's a full scale war between them and Hamas and these hacks think Mr. Starfish being arrested is bigger news. :317:

skysports

sky are reporting it as section 20 assault

GBH (Grievous Bodily Harm – Section 18 and Section 20 Assault).

To be convicted of this offence, the defendant must be proved to have committed really serious harm, or wounded another person (for example by stabbing with a knife). However, the damage must be intended. If the intention of the defendant was to only cause some pain or harm, but not "really serious harm", then the offence committed is Section 20 Assault - a less serious version of GBH, also called "wounding without intent". So a defendant who has kicked somebody else and broken their ribs, could be guilty of Section 20 Assault if they did not specifically want to cause that damage, but Section 18 Assault if they actually intended that damage.

Whether an offence is Section 18 or Section 20 is important when it comes to sentence. Section 20 Assault has a maximum sentence of 5 years imprisonment, and can even be dealt with in the Magistrates Court, although it is quite rare that the magistrates will prevent it from being transferred to the Crown Court. Section 18 Assault, on the other hand, can only ever be dealt with in the Crown Court, and can result in a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, although sentences of more than 10 years for Section 18 are rare.

You know, I was laughing my arse off this whole morning seeing the news about St. Stevie, but that right there is really shameful stuff.

The man really and truly is a fool to be involved in anything like this. You know if anything comes of this, it will be a serious distraction within that club to have their captain and talisman in legal trouble while they are going for the title.

Jesus, look what happened at Leeds. Granted, from what little we know, that situation was probably far more serious, but it totally derailed their season.

Oh Steeevie Gerrahds :D :scouser:

Edit: I wonder how this will impact his treatment by the press if anything comes of it. Or his standing with England for that matter

Liverpool FC have:

A) Said it would treat with the matter appropriately and cooperate fully with any inquiries

B') Denied any knowledge of the incident

C) Blamed the nightclub for letting too many DJs into the pub without official tickets

D) Blamed Southport police for failing to control their captain when he was clearly in need of preferential treatment due to being a halfwit

E) B,C and D

I manage a bar in the town centre and every time Mr Ger 'National Traitor' rard has been in there has been trouble. Him and his mates are very arrogant (especially when they've had a drink) and if he wasn't a famous footballer he would most probably be barred from a lot of places. I dont doubt for a minute that he was provoked but you have to laugh at the fact that 5 of his mates were required to jump in on the poor fellah - then again he is used to team sports!!

He's a rude little man.

Me and my partner were in Bar Mio in Ainsdale one evening and my partner adores Ger 'National Traitor' rard and loves liverpool.

My partner went to the gents for a wee and Stevie G followed him in to answer a phone call as it was rather noisy in the bar. My partner come out looking crestfallen. He said Stevie G told him to get out while he took a phone call (as if he owned the place!) and did not even ask in a nice way either! My partner was gutted that his hero could of been so rude and arrogant!

I think when your in the public eye and you have a fanbase you have an image to uphold. There are impressionable youngsters who follow these celebs and look upto them.
