Sack the board
Fair point but how long was Gus at the club or in the country for that matter, good player who won a few trophies but hardly a club legend or long serving player like say Beckenbauer or Rummenigge at Bayern.

Sack the board
This is the problem we have at the minute, we are just sitting here guessing. We get nothing from the club, why they did this? what there thoughts are on that? who's making the decisions? what the plans are going forward? nothing. Just come along every week and give us your money. This is why many fans are getting pi$$ed off by it. We feel our link to the club is getting further and further apart. If Roman is as clever as you think you'd think he'd also be clever enough NOT to surround himself with 'yes men'. He might have the final say on big decisions but the day to day running of the club is down to the board. He's on some yacht somewhere getting noshed off by that Russian sort he aint getting a phone call from Buck and co asking if its ok to do this or that. He probably was given a shortlist of available candidates to pick from, FSW should never have been on it. Who knows what the solution is going forward, but it cant stay like it is. Managers that aint allowed to manage,Directors buying and selling players etc. The structure of the club is wrong IMO.

Sack the board
Well its been reported (how true who knows) that RA was oblivious to the fact the fans hated FSW and is annoyed how badly the appointment has gone down so you have to ask did Buck, Gourley or Emenalo know. If they did and didn't care how we felt they are obviously ignorant to how passionate fans are for their clubs and should be sacked. If they didn't know then they are just ignorant and should be sacked. Having someone like Dennis Wise(just cos wisey would be hilerious) put his hand up in a board meeting and say ' you do realize Roman hiring that prick is gonna go down like an horse sh*t sandwich with the fans' might be a good idea. Ex players understand the club and the fans and whats important and whats not important. The faceless suits dont. Of course the business men have there roles to play and rightly so but i feel ex players could be the link between them and us cos at the minute theres just a huge void.

Sack the board
I dont think catchment areas are the issue when talking about the structure of or how the club is run. I know we cant buy the club and have that kind of input but it would be nice to feel part of the club rather than just a customer. I know many fans have felt real disaffection this season with the club. Highlighted by the whole FSW affair mainly and how our thoughts were totally ignored by the board. Having ex players on the board who know the game and have affiliation with the club and its fans is a great idea. Who are Buck, Gourley, Emanalo and what the fcuk do they know about football or what us fans think?

Anti-Chelsea Media
Great post Shelly, exactly how i feel. Its as if the lies get told so often and are repeated enough eventually they become true somehow. Its ridiculous. And regarding JT'S Dad, how much stick would he be getting if he had the accusations made against him that Neville Neville has had. Now dont get me wrong the man might be innocent and the allegations totally unfounded but if it was JT's dad who was accused the truth wouldn't matter anyway.

John Obi Mikel Appreciation Thread
Because as we all know, stamford_blue. sfl and mazacar are all the same person. we can all log on at home,at the office and on the laptop. I have even seen them disagree with each other just to throw a slight curve ball but it doesn't work. It would have if under one persona he/she could have hid there hatred for Mikel or at least disguised it but unfortunately the hatred was to strong and like most $hit it floats to the surface.

I have been saying for a while that Bayern are the model to which every club is run. Not because of success but structure. German football is where it is at. Forget Spain, there grass roots development is fantastic so they have produced incredible players recently but ultimately there clubs are in the same state ours are financially. We have all moaned about how we feel distant from OUR club, that the boardroom dont care or understand or listen to us. They dont involve us or take our thoughts/feelings into consideration. FSW the final nail in the coffin. Bayern are 80% owned by the fans. 10% Adidas and 10% Audi. They have fans on the board who have imput into footballing decisions. They have ex players who know the game, have affiliation with the club/city/area on the board and who know football. They have a massive stadium and cheep tickets, the money they earn is invested in the team and locally at grass roots level. Not given to share holders who couldn't give a toss. Nationally and internationally they are a fantastic club, the model to which we should all strive, the fact we beat them last year in their own backyard still astounds me.

Which former player would you like back the most?
we never should have sold Robben.

Anti-Chelsea Media
If you are slagged off on the tv and in the papers all week in the build up to a game, and the opposition manager has been heaping pressure on the referee in the build up to the game and there is an anti Chelsea sentiment out there from neutrals because there stupid enough to believe what they read. When the big game comes up its going to be so easy for the ref to give nothing our way. As somebody already said its in his mindset, his subconscious whatever you want to call it. At the moment it seems to be the referees default setting.....give us nothing we dont 100% deserve and then only if you have to. I'm not saying the ref's have a sit down and throw around ideas on how to screw us, i'm not questioning there integrity. But they know if they give us an iffy decision it will be jumped on by everyone after the game but if they give one against us not even our own manager is going to say anything at the minute so basis that which way are those 'close calls' going to go. well they aint going to go our way and they aint all season and I think thats all us paranoid people are trying to say. And i think we have a fair point.

Well at least he wont be here next season apparently Liverpool have accepted a £40m bid for him to go in the summer from a German side........... Borussia Munchencenterbach

Referees
Wasn't it Foy at QPR last year as well. I knew during the semi we would get nothing out of Foy. Jose would have been mentioning referee's all week in the build up to the Liverpool game putting the pressure on the ref (like fergie/wenger) making sure they knew they would have to get things right and at the very bloody least be fair.

What rhymes with Deulofeu ?
Beulofeu!

Manuel Pellegrini
If we cant get Jose then i think we should go for Jose, and if that fails we should push the boat out for Jose and in the end if all else fails we should go for Jose.

2013/14 Chelsea Kit Rumours
I like it, and i like the keepers kit to. My favorite for a goalie is traditional green but yellow is second.

Everything that's wrong with Chelsea ..
You can have a coach and a director of football that's not the problem, the problem is when the director of football starts telling the coach what players he needs. Let the coach decide footballing matters i.e what players he wants for what positions in whatever formation he wants and let the director of football handle business matters i.e go and negotiate transfers and contracts for said players.

Chelsea Success?
yes, i'm not greedy and also because then we would be the only team in British football to have won every major trophy available. That does me fine.

John Obi Mikel Appreciation Thread
Sorry this doesn't quite add up. Percentage of members of this forum who would miss you if you were to piss off back to whatever hole you emerged from never to be seen again: 0.001% 0.003%.....Mazacar and SFL too, come on people we all know I think Davey babys posts sum it up, I have said all along i am not a Mikel fan. I posted after the City game how poor he was. I have said there are better players out there who could do a better job for us in that position. But i have also found myself defending him against totally un-warranted blind hatred which is why this thread and many others have become hijacked by a few who have nothing constructive/objective or even rational to say about one of our players. One of the many hero's of the greatest night in the clubs history, this at the very least makes him worthy of some respect by his own fans. This i think is what most have been defending, the discussions about the merits of the player and his performance in any given game have stopped because you cant reason with irrational people. I'm no fan of him, he was absolute crap at Wembley IMHO, but i have seen him have some blinding games for us and when he does i'll be first to say well done not give reasons why the other 10 players deserve credit.....come on boys were not West Ham.

Valid excuses for apparent Professionals.
This is the key issue, City had a near full week to rest and prepare compared to us coming back from Russia Thursday night and they came out all guns blazing first 30mins. I agree players using 'to many games' as an excuse makes them sound like idiots to blokes knocking there nuts out 12hrs a day 6 days a week but it doesn't always make a level playing field in some competitions. Its the trappings of success i suppose. As CFC fans we are a little spoiled in terms of this was our 18th semi since RA came to the club we are in our 7th Euro semi in 10 years which is much better than having nothing to play for come February.

Crying out for strength
I agree we have gone from a very powerful side to a very lightweight side almost overnight. I'm not talking about building a team full of lump it anywhere giants but you can have big strong players with skill and touch. A good big'n will always beat a good little'n. Its all about having the right balance though, and sometimes you need players to win the battles physically to allow players like Mata to then get on the ball and express themselves.

John Obi Mikel Appreciation Thread
Not going to look at specific moments (first goal was a fluke and unlucky from a defensive point of view) but Mikel was poor today. I dont think it helps when the manager sends the team out to contain and in turn invite City on to us. We need mazacar to be playing with the ball at their feet on the edge of the oppositions box not chasing back to cover on the edge of ours. But Mikel got hooked a rightly so, Ramires was 10 times better and if Mikel had put a shift in and imposed himself like Rambo did we might not have lost the midfield battle in the first 30mins. His distribution was awful and he struggled badly.

The Rafa Benitez Thread (merged)
I thought FSW made the right subs today, well lets be honest its just nice to see him actually attempt to change things tactically rather than his usual like-for-like subs on the hour. I just wish he'd have sent them out to win the match from the beginning rather than to contain City which in turn invited them on to us. We want the 3 amigos to be playing with the ball at their feet on the edge of the oppositions box rather than chasing back to cover on the edge of ours. I think we showed City to much respect at the start of the game and didn't get going until it was too late. OK we came back well and on another day we may have pulled it back but you could see City panicking once we started to play which would have been nice from the off and giving them a 2 goal start left us with to much to do.

Catch 22, what do you do
Managers come and go, trophies stay in the cabinet for ever. Lets win them in spite of FSW. Lets be one of only a few teams to have won the lot. Lets pull away from spurs in the trophy count and over take Villa as the 4th most successful team in the country while all the time closing in on Arsenal in 3rd in the country and most successful in London. If we win 2 trophies this season i'll be dammed if i'm going to let FSW in anyway take the edge of my enjoyment, after all its our club not his so Fu*k him. Then next season we get a new manager and start again, with a big push for the title.
